Set in its own grounds, this beautifully restored 18th-century lodge offers a rustic pub with seasonally inspired food and cask ales.

Breakfast was lovely and evening meal. My coworker who could not get in to this hotel had to stay a few miles away taxis did not turn up staff tried to sort this out. One male staff member said his shift was finished and took him back to his other hotel not many staff would offer to do this.

We wanted to stay close to Lichfield centre and especially the Garrick theatre and we were not disappointed. The Cranmere was just a pleasant 10 minute walk away. The self contained accommodation with its small kitchen and lovely bathroom was very well appointed, clean and cosy. The bed was especially comfortable. John was a great host and went the extra mile to ensure we had everything we needed to enjoy our short stay. We would not hesitate to recommend The Cranmere to relatives and friends. We certainly plan to stay again to enjoy more of what the area has to offer

Warm room and ability to open a window to let a fresh air in. Appreciated a comfortable bed, so had a good night sleep. Bathroom was clean and hot water worked straight away. Friendly staff and cosy quiet bar area. Location: just 5-10 minutes away from the city/town centre itself.
