I just finished 6 weeks traveling in Sri Lanka, and this was my favorite stay of the trip! To wake up to singing birds and the sun rising over the misty mountains - it’s absolute bliss. The rooms are spacious and immaculate: they have a tea kettle and tea/coffee, A/C, a large bathroom, and a private patio with stunning views. There is also a common area for lounging and dining on *delicious* meals made by the chef. Wije is a welcoming manager who will share his expert knowledge on the area and help you arrange a tuk tuk for exploring the many nearby temples. I loved the place so much I wanted to stay extra nights, but they were booked - so the property host helped me find a place to stay in Kandy. I was traveling alone, so I was especially grateful for the extra care that the property staff took to make me feel safe and at ease. Stay here if you’re looking for a break from the city and an immersion into the natural and cultural wonders of the region.

The owners make this place amazing. Warm reception with tea, helped with transportation to see the sights, fed us amazing meals and made us feel like family. On vacation in Sri Lanka and passing trough Kandy for 2 days, we received a very warm welcome from our hosts Shiha and Nigel! Everything was perfect, the house is magnificent, spacious, fresh and finely decorated! We loved Shiha's dishes, excellent cuisine! We absolutely loved our stay!! The spaces at this three bedroom cozy and comfortable bungalow is even more beautiful than it looks in the photos. It is perched on a scenic elevated hillside amidst a lush calm forest, which allowed us to enjoy total seclusion while being surrounded by open nature. Thankfully the road access all the way to the bungalow was on a tarred carpeted road. The amazing views of distant tree topped green hills offered from the living area and terrace were truly breathtaking. If you are also looking for an intimate escape from the confines of daily life like us, then this is an ideal place for you to stay. I booked this bungalow for my family for a long weekend and we really enjoyed the peace and tranquillity it offered. The bungalow had a fully functional well designed kitchen with all the amenities. The fulltime caretaker servicing the bungalow was incredibly friendly, helpful and patient with our requests and was quick to help us with anything that we needed. He stayed at the quarters right next to the bungalow and offered to prepare us with freshly made meals with the groceries we bought on our way there. This was just great!!! Additionally, we were able to order Sri Lankan food like string hoppers and milk-rice which was delivered by the caretaker right to our bungalow. We also took sufficient bottled water and a bag of coal to use the barbecue unit at the bungalow. In terms of entertainment, the bungalow had cards, darts, free bikes, a mini library and a large flat screen smart TV with a great WIFI connection. I could not have asked for more! Some nights after dinner we enjoyed some movies on my Netflix connection cozied up on the comfy sofa in the TV lounge. The views out from the jacuzzi on the balcony (even though it was rainy when we stayed) was gorgeous! It was totally worth what we paid and we are definitely planning to stay here again! I highly recommend this place for retreat and quality time, both with family or as a group.
