For those looking for a quiet, rustic getaway this property is a paradise. The creek that runs right by the house is beautiful for swimming in as long as you enjoy clear, cool water. There are small trout in the pools and the smell of the eucalyptus trees (I think that's what they were...) makes for an ideal setting. Carlos, the owner, is a wonderful person who goes out of his way to make your stay comfortable. We greatly appreciated his kindness and help. We drove our Fiat Panda in without any difficulty, but the road is a little rough for about 1km before arriving at the house. It makes for a great experience.

We loved our stay here, tucked away in the quiet hills in an extremely comfortable home with everything we could need. The pool was wonderful and the views fantastic from the deck. We cooked delicious fresh fish on the charcoal BBQ, our daughter helped Fiona feed the cats and I even spotted an owl from the bedroom window at night! Richard and Fiona are the most amazing hosts, always seeking to make our stay that much more special. Thank you!

The location was about a 10 minute drive from Castanheira de Pera. The home was located in a neighborhood in a quiet & rural area. The place was very clean and spacious, and the bedroom was large and with a very large and very comfortable bed. The hosts were very attentive and hospitable and made me feel welcome and had great suggestions for things to do in the area.
