El Cortijo Hotel is a colonial house transformed into a boutique hotel, in the village of Cachi, Salta. It offers pleasant rooms with traditional Argentinean décor and a gourmet restaurant. It was a lovely surprise to find such a stunning boutique hotel in a relatively remote location. The interior of the hotel was top notch with beautifully decorated outdoor areas and courtyards, a lovely pool set in a small garden, cosy well designed rooms with very comfortable beds and a superb restaurant. We loved it all and would highly recommend it!
Located in the Calchaqués Valley, in the heart of the Salta mountains, the elegant La Merced Del Alto Hotel offers a wine cellar with tastings and outdoor swimming pool. Stunning building and beautiful rooms with incredible views. A lovely inner courtyard and well-kept garden. Excellent restaurant and professional staff. Highly recommended!
Situated in Cachi, 150 metres from the main square, Tampu features accommodation with a restaurant, free private parking and a garden. The hotel has family rooms. The room was spacious with a very nice bathroom. The garden is very beautiful with a nice pool.
Casa del Tejedor features accommodation with a shared lounge, a garden and a shared kitchen for your convenience. Free WiFi is provided throughout the property. The house is tastefully furnished and filled with interesting objects and decorations, such as handmade rugs, ponchos, and pre-Columbian artifacts. There is a wonderful common room with a fireplace and sofas where you can rest while sipping a glass of wine and admiring the beautiful decorations in the room. The manager of the facility also is a weaver ("tejedor" indeed) and it is also possible to buy various products made by him (ponchos, ruadas, rugs). The breakfast is good and plentiful and the manager was able to offer me gluten-free alternatives (eggs, yogurt, crackers). It is not the cheapest option in Cachi, but it is worth every penny spent. Highly recommended!
Set in a charming garden with a swimming pool, Miraluna Cabañas offers self-catering cabins with free Wi-Fi and mountain views in Cachi. Breakfast is provided. Cchi town is 7 km away. Great view, specially at night with a wonderful sight of the stars.
Hosteria Automovil Club is set in a privileged location in Cachi, located 157 km from Salta. Wi-Fi is free and there is an outdoor swimming pool, a children's playground, and barbecue facilities. The location is great, the views are the best part. The staff is very kind and attentive.
Set in Cachí in the Salta Province region, Cabaña Abra Del Monte offers accommodation with free private parking. The location is amazing. The cabaña is perfect, very well equiped and more! Some food items are available to buy in situ as well as beverages and wines. Marcos, the host, is very nice, his hospitality is unique. We stayed only for 1 night but the place worths at least 2 nights!
Situated 5.4 km from Escalchi, La Chakana features accommodation with a garden, a terrace and a shared kitchen for your convenience. The homestay features both WiFi and private parking free of charge.... Mavi was a wonderful host. My friends and I had a wonderful night staying in her home. Her house was beautiful, and she even allowed us to stay in three bedrooms (even though we'd only paid for two!). She gave us a fantastic restaurant reservation in town, and for a place to stop the next day on our drive to Cafayate. I wouldn't hesitate to stay her again if I return to Cachi.
Cachi is a beautiful small town. We spent only 1 day but I would suggest 2-3 minimum. There are plenty of small towns nearby and some TOP NOTCH wineries and bodegas to explore. We're going back again and slowing it WAY DOWN.
There is absolutely nothing to detain the visitor in Cachi. It is totally devoid of charm or attraction and there is no reason to stay. The restaurants are of a very poor standard and the quality of the food and of service is dire. A forty minute wait after ordering was not unusual and then the food would be cold and virtually inedible. We could not finish any of the meals that were provided. Cachi is, of course, on a wonderful route through the Andes and is difficult to avoid. If there is time, the traveller on this route should continue to the nice small town of Molinos with some lovely old colonial buildings, attractive adobe houses. and a very interesting church. .It also has a very nice hotel - the Hacienda de Molinos , a former residence of a Governor of the Province - - with a very, very good restaurant. It is well worth the visit.
travelled by car Cafayate > Cachi beware that there is 100km of gravel road, very corrugated i suggest a full tank of fuel before leaving Cafayate coming to/from Salta, scenic very winding mountain road with major gravel sections national park of cacti is gret
Small scenic town. Can get good food. Hit or miss. Get gas early as we waited one hour for the truck to unload. Should have filled up the night before. Road to Cafayate is rough but you should do it once for the experience.
Lovely little town which , though certainly touristy, still has a real NW Argentine charm about it. Great for a few days relaxation. Coming from the south, it’s a long haul on challenging unsaved roads, but the views are absolutely worth it and the town itself is delightful. It also has some great places to eat including a fabulous veggie restaurant - hurrah!
Small traditional northern Argentina town. A great place to slow down and enjoy. Great central plaza. Adequate selection of shops and restaurants. Safe and easy to walk around - but beware the very high curbs! The gravel road from Cafayate is challenging - and takes 4-5 hours. Friendly people - but very little English is spoken. Viracocha restaurant is v good. (Say hello to Nicolas and ask to see his art).
The house is located outside of Cachi in a very rural area. It’s surrounded by nature and in the night you’re able to see the stars. Beautiful. The house was clean and had everything we needed. You actually don’t need to do grocery shopping - the owner provided everything, even drinks, yoghurt and bread (not meat of course) All you do is pay him at the end of your stay. There’s even a price list. This is an advantage because Cachi is a bit of a way to drive to and there’s no supermarket nearby.
Check in was quick, the responsible very friendly and organised, there is a lot of space for parking. A restaurant with a nice view is available on the premises, so perfect to relax after a day of driving in my case. The room, even though very simple, was equipped with everything I needed, including toiletries. Very pretty garden around the hotel!
The hotel has an inner court with a pool. There is a little restaurant also within it where you have breakfast (media lunas and bread with jam, tea/coffee, orange juice). Our room and bathroom were both very spacious. Cachi is very small so everything in the town is well within walking distance.
Warm welcome by the English speaking landowner in the evening who joined us for breakfast as well. His wife even called to the police station to make sure we had a safe ride. This charming hotel/B&B was located in the center of Cachi.
beautiful, secluded location. very peaceful. nice private outdoor space. nice coffee left for breakfast. lovingly furnished and spacious. you can go to the boutique hotel for breakfast (extra money)
Spacious and clean cabana, for a very reasonable price. Friendly owner and all the facilities in the cabana you need. It is about 2KM from Cachi center, but no problem at al with a rental car.
This place is really exceptional, lots of amenities. The garden and pool is like a dream. The food was extraordinary. We can recommend this outstanding hotel!
Gorgeous setting although the road up to the hotel was very rough. Helpful staff.
Everything about the hotel was great.
