Beautiful primitive combination of scenery and people. Amazing nature views. The trip between Purmamarca and Salinas Grandes is breathtaking. 4500 meters altitude along the Andes, views changing every minute. I would recommend taking enough time for this trip both ways, since it is almost necesary to stop every minute for sightseeing. The trip is a destination in itself!!!
Really, only the coloured hills. But not just the famous hill at the town’s edge. Do the 3km loop - and best done clockwise I think as the colours in the valley are seen better that way. Best time is in the morning once the mist clears - 9am maybe?
Rich food, beautiful place and I had everything that I need, included many visits to the pharmacy due to altitude sickness. The pharmacist helped me to check my blood pressure and also gave me the right medicine to continue my jorney.
Purmamarca is a quiet mountain town surrounded by gorgeous geology and scenery. It has daily markets selling arts and crafts at affordable prices. The town fills up throughout the day as tour buses come and go. Paseo de las colorados is a beautiful short trek up and around the town.
Great views wherever you were. We found Aniacha in the tourist information office who was really helpful arranging walking tours, taxis etc. A visit to the Salinos Grandes was amazing - not to be missed.
Beautiful mountain, lovely walking track behind it. Drove to Salinas Grandes which is amazing and well worth doing! The drive to Humahuaca was beautiful with even larger 7 coloured hills and mountains.
