All three Jesuit Ruins in the area are unique and worth seeing. (Watch the movie, The Mission, before you arrive to understand the role of the Jesuit Missions.) San Ignacio Mini is the best restored and Nuestra Senora de Loreto has lots more to be excavated. Alvaro, the guide at Santa Ana, is a library of information and gives the best tour of the Santa Ana Jesuit Ruins. San Ignacio Mini has a fabulous Sound and Light Show- check for the nights it will be offered. It is so worth it. All have museums that are small but fun. We also went to the Park of the Cross in Santa Ana (La Cruz de Santa Ana) which is actually outside of town but overlooks the whole area to the river. They have a beautiful Butterfly room with so many butterflies flying around and the trail is lovely through the forest. The views from the Cross are vast. We also went to the Teyu Cuare Park just outside San Ignacio Mini. The trails are well kept and the views to the Parana River are lovely. there is a house in ruins where a Nazi hid out after the war- hard to get to- really a great spot to hide. We were there with many butterflies of all colors and sizes- lovely! Food around San Ignacio Mini and Santa Ana is excellent! there are many crofts to buy out the back exit of the San Ignacio Mini Jesuit Ruins. A CD of the music of that period is available from kiosk man directly outside the back gate.

What a great find. Griselda and Francisco opened this quaint hotel two months ago. The rooms were immaculate, the pool inviting, and the location wonderful for visiting the ruins. The restaurant serves traditional Argentinean food and it was good. After watching the night light show at the ruins it is incredibly convenient to have a nice meal and drink at your hotel. The rooms are out back in a courtyard and are separate from the restaurant and quite peaceful and quiet.

Great little hotel. Our room was small but comfortable, modern and spotlessly clean. The bed was comfortable and air-conditioning worked well. The staff are really nice and helpful. Good location just a few minutes walk from San Ignacio Mini. Very good value too.

Hotel is centrally located, a walking distance to the ruins of San Ignacio Mini. Breakfast better than average for Argentinian hotels. Beautiful gardens, architecturally interesting building.

San Ignacio is not all that big a place, but I thought this Posada has a great location which is not far from the bus terminal on the main road, and is about equidistant to the mission ruins and Horacio Quiroga's house and museum.... so very easy to get to and from all the places I needed to. The posada is extremely immaculate and everything seems in good repair. The hosts are friendly and helpful and the bed was super-comfy. I would recommend this for anybody who needs a comfortable place to stay without breaking the bank in San Ignacio.
