Debbie is a great host. Everything you need is provided in the apartment we stayed. Literally everything. Food choices are limited as we have to drive out for quite some time. But since we drove, we're all good. Debbie gave us enough food to cook for 2 breakfasts. We also got to feed the animals around the house. Overall a relaxing and great experience.
If you looking for modern minimalist architecture, this is not for you. If you are after value for money, country cottage type accommodation for a quiet retreat, with Avoca and Maryborough nearby, within a short drive, to access various facilities, this will fit the bill.
The best aspects of our stay was the wonderful hospitality we were afforded by the owner, Catherine. Fabulous meals, local wines, great room and such a lot of history on every wall. Such an interesting hotel. From the outside it doesn't look flash but inside there is history on every wall - photos, maps, articles etc. We were in the area to visit my ancestors in the Avoca Cemetery and visit the Avoca Historical Society. We visited the Blue Pyrenees Winery which was so interesting and purchased several wines. We also took a self guided tour of an old gold mining town. So much to see and do in this area of Victoria.
A quiet country hamlet which seemed like we had stepped out of hectic life and into a more pleasant lifestyle. I only wish we had more time to explore the area. The signpost picture was taken in nearby Elmhurst.
We happened to pick a weekend with great weather, beautiful blue sky with sunshine, but not too hot, really made it a wonderful stay on the farm! It was so nice to enjoy sunrise right from the bungalow's front windows while sipping a cup of coffee and enjoying our brekkie. Our 3yo son was delighted to be at the farm right when they had some baby sheep and calves. The first thing he visited everytime we got out of the bungalow were those baby animals, which were not too far away. He enjoyed the playground too, the tour around the farm, picking fresh eggs from the chicken coop and playing with the friendly sheep dogs. We left with wonderful memories of our family trip spent on the farm and our son kept mentioning how he enjoyed the farm after we returned home. Big thank you to Vincent and Debbie for being such a wonderful host!
One word " Quiet" that I would say. There were wild kangaroos when we were driving to Amphitheatre ! All views are spectacular which looks like wild post cards. The town is fancy & cute. People are very friendly. There are great wine regions and free tasting as well,
