The facilities are quite modern and it had all the things needed. They even had electric blankets, which were greatly appreciated during this winter time. The location was exceptional: close to the beach and the only 5-10 minutes drive from the shops in Apollo Bay.

The location is few kilometres away from Apollo Bay main street which makes it a super location for travellers who prefer a quiet location to stay. If you are lucky, you might able to see galaxy or star in the night. We saw some sheep outside the holiday park too.

This foreshore area is fantastic…. glorious grass areas, large trees, sculpture, toilets/change rooms, BBQ, skate park, playground AND close access to the beach. There is a surprisingly wide variety of eateries to cater for numerous tastes and budgets. The walk along the main shopping precinct includes specialty businesses and shops, along with the necessary “ everyday” varieties. Truly: something for everyone.

We stayed one night.
We stayed one night. Apollo Bay is a small town and one night or a drive through is enough. There is limited places to eat, we ate at the Oishii Sushi Seafood. The town is tired needs a pick me up! Go to Teddy's Lookout easy walk for a beautiful view of the Ocean Road into Apollow Bay go a little further and you may spot a Koala.

Apollo Bay is a small, tidy and atmospheric village right on the sea. Shops and eateries are good. We were there in the first weekend of spring so almost no-one was around. The drive to the Twelve Apostles along the rural section of the Great Ocean Road is one of the gems of this area and only about 90-100 minutes away. The Apostles are of course spectacular - make sure to bring warm clothing and something to protect from the incredibly strong winds.
The photo is taken from the road leaving Apollo Bay to the west with the town in the background.

Apollo Bay has 2 Hotels, 1 is also a Brewery if you like tasting different beers you can get a tasting palette, we did that it was great, Also there is a Gin distillery which we also enjoyed, tastings, Then headed out to a place called Paradise, which is up the Barram River valley, it is a place cleared next to the river surrounded by fern cover, just magic spot. We also went up Marriners Lookout where you can see right accross Apollo Bay, the locals told us that some days you get up there and you can see wales swimming past, also a shipwreck about 2 km out to sea.

Its a lovely one or two day stay place (during the winter), waterfront shopping strip, a couple great pubs, a few resturants, lots of cafe style places, many are great for lunch or dinner. Beach access is from the main strip, seems like pleanty of good parking (untimed). Take the time to enjoy a Gin Flight and rustic pizza at the Apollo Bay Distilery. If your on your motorbike to enjoy the GOR, this is a great stop for breakfast of lunch dependant on your starting location or direction to Apollo Bay. If your on the bike, Lavers Hill to Apollo Bay is a fantastic long sweeping bend ride, if your from the Geelong direction, Aireys Inlet to Apollo Bay is were it really begins, tight, still a lot of fun at the 80kph limit, just mind the bumps in the road.

Apollo Bay in the middle of Autumn is quite sleepy.
Apollo Bay in the middle of Autumn is quite sleepy. No need to book at restaurants :) and plenty of picnic spaces. The coffee shops are open and so is the distillery, which makes excellent Gin and has Happy Hour from 16:30 to 17:30.

We were on roadtrip and stopped over at Apollo Bay for dinner. We realized we couldn't pursue the journey and needed to stay. We booked last minute and the motel was super accommodating and helped with late check in. Huge room, super comfy and clean, everything you need. Super friendly staff. Will definitely stay again when coming back to Apollo Bay.
The location was perfect, right near to the beach, room was clean and tidy and had everything we needed. Unfortunately we were on a tight schedule so didn't have a chance to spend much time around Apollo Bay. That said, we had a lovely meal at the Italian Restaurant - Casalingo - which we walked to from the hotel (around 20 mins).
The motel was conveniently located on the esplanade at Apollo Bay very close to the main shopping strip so it was within easy walking distance to the beach and cafes and restaurants. The hotel manager and staff were very friendly and helpful and were accommodating whenever we needed assistance.
We loved everything about this house. The view is exceptional and the house has everything you need for your stay. The fireplace was the best part of the house seeing that we had a week of rain and really cold weather. They are super pet friendly and our dog enjoyed the secure courtyard.
