Beautiful town with lots to do nearby. They have a new wildlife park just out of town which offer guided tours. There's the best fish and chips at the fishing co-op where you can sit and overlook the harbour. There are plenty of beautiful forrest and waterfall walks all a close drive by, which are great in any weather if you're game! The local market on a saturday morning is so nice, with all handmade and homegrown produce. So much to do I can't even fit it into a review! Just visit haha
It is the perfect base for visiting other locations. Definitely check for roadworks and beach works. We booked for May when both road and beach works are commenced. This did not stop us from exploring our desired activities though. The Otways, definitely ask local for roadworks and best route as we were taken on the worst route possible! Also many of the shops close in May - maybe winter, which was unexpected given lockdowns.
It’s a really nice place, the streets are clean & the locals very friendly. As our stay was very short, we only visited the Bakery for their famous scallop pies and we had grilled lobsters at the Fisherman Co-op. Both did not disappoint as they were really fresh & delicious! The pizzas from the Distillery were good too. We fully recommend stopping here if you’re visiting the Twelve Apostles.
Lovely quiet stay, people lovely and lots to see if you are happy to drive. Cafe's were pretty good, even though Covid restrictions made it difficult for them not us though. The Fish Co-op on the waterfront had lovely fish and chips and seafood selections. The Distillery was excellent with lots of shared dishes and pizza was delish. Went to Beech Forest a quaint little town had lovely Devonshire tea at the Gallery next to the church. The Redwood Forest (was AMAZING and a must do) but be prepared for the winding roads that are quite narrow but everyone drives carefully, would have liked to have visited more of the falls to see along the backroads.
Our accommodation at the Sandpiper Motel was really good, I would definitely stay there again. We had dinner at the Apollo Bay Hotel, I will NEVER go back there! They served me COLD chicken wings that were inedible. When I told the waitress she didn't seem to care, there was no offer of a refund or replacement meal. Breakfast the next morning at Cafe 153 was beautiful, I would recommend going there for a meal, the staff were very nice and the service was excellent.
We love Apollo Bay have Visited many times we love the cafes and especially Chriss restaurant in Skenes Creek beautiful views from there and also its an easy drive from Apollo Bay to Port Campbell and the Twelve Apostles. Beautiful beaches and plenty of accommodation all in all its a great experiance and we will ne back.
Great communication from management, easy to get into property. Lovely wine and stocked fridge with juices, eggs, butter etc. Good WiFi signal and really comfy bed. Hot tub was lovely, the view was amazing. They have me spoilt now, will definitely be returning to Apollo Bay and won’t be staying anywhere else.
We arrived in the dark and awoke to a fantastic view of the ocean 🌊 We only booked about half an hour before arriving and were warmly welcomed even though it was after office closing hours. It was so lovely to find our heater on and the room nice and warm when we arrived 🙂 Excellent value for money!
Position with clear ocean views. Could hear the waves breaking. Not in city centre :) An leisurely short walk to shops along beach Clean, spacious cabin. Excellent cooking facilities, fridge, oven, stove. Good sized balcony with table and chairs.
Excellent location and fantastic location far exceeded my expectations for this type of Hotel. Room was much larger than we expected and for a motel style hotel was fantastic value for money and nice and central for bars and restaurants.
This place has wonderful beach villas and suited us perfectly as it is set in a great environment next to the beach. Wonderful and warm reception and very clean.
It was close to the ocean and the Main Street with cafes and shops and the rooms were decorate like the ocean. It was a very romantic spot.
