Featuring a spa bath, Arthur River Spa Cottage is located in Arthur River. This self-catered vacation home features a garden, grill facilities, free WiFi and free private parking. Fantastic house with an incredible view. Extremely comfortable home with all facilities needed for a very relaxed stay.
Tarkinegrove is located in Roger River and offers a terrace. This country house provides free private parking and a 24-hour front desk. What a find! This little cottage was just stunning. From the moment we arrived we were treated to so much. The dining table was set for dinner, complimentary biscuits - it was just amazing. Everything you needed was there. We were told we could walk around anywhere and view the beautiful gardens. We saw the platypus in the pond, some possums, even some wallabies. The location was perfect for the start of our tarkine drive adventure. Make sure you bring food and drinks with you. We had a beautiful log fire that kept the cottage toasty warm. Our hosts were so kind and the cottage directions were so easy to follow. I wish we stayed longer than one night. Will definitely be back. Highly recommended!
Platypus Waters B&B is located in Smithton and offers a garden and barbecue facilities. loved the setting the layout of the accommodation the generous breakfast items provided the dressing gowns the luxurious bathroom the gorgeous bed and views from the deck and the decanter of port we enjoyed!!! thank you
Tall Timbers Tasmania offers standard hotel rooms and self contained apartments within walking distance to Smithton town center. There is a restaurant and heated indoor pool. The staff were all so friendly, helpful and seemed to really like their job, particularly so in the restaurant
Featuring a barbecue, Grace's Spa Cottage is a detached holiday home set in Smithton. The holiday home is 18 mi from Stanley. Free private parking is available on site. This place was one of the best places I have ever stayed in. The kitchen set up is the best I have ever known. They are thoughtful and provide lots of equipment so you can actually cook whatever you want. The whole house is amazing and all the little details really made a difference to our experience. I can't recommend this place enough.
We did the Red boat Arthur river cruise. The staff were amazing, friendly and informative. We had a wonderful day on the river with a delicious bbq lunch with home made salads and fruit cake. Arthur's River is a lovely unusual place to visit. Windy and wild but beautiful.
We were there for the Takayna ultramarathon so didn’t spend much time in Arthur River per se. But we would have liked to. Scenically spectacular and I loved the continuous sound of the Southern Ocean rollers on the shore.
A lovely little Hamlet named after the river itself. Situated at the river mouth on the isolated north-west coast of Tasmania. There is plenty of cottage type accommodation available and is a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of holiday resorts.
Arthur River exceeded my expectations. I expected something more run down but it is quite a smart looking village hugging the river. While there are no cafes etc, it is in a remote area and any development would start to spoil it. You can buy a coffee, ice creams, drinks, ice, fast food takeaway and basic provisions so all basic needs can be met. The boat trip on the Reflections was very enjoyable as were the walks we did and the Tarkine Drive. When you see it you understand why we have to take good care of it.
A charming and sleepy little township with only two small shops for supplies. One only takes cash so best to bring your own supplies. Nearest bigger shop at Marrawah. Many lovely beach walks in the vicinity plus the Red Boat Arthur River tour is highly recommended. Tarkine walks are well within reach. A good place to base yourself for the Tarkine coast and if you want to get away from it all.
The scenery is breathtaking and where the ocean meets the River is wild and ruggard. You will need to buy groceries, alcohol and fuel before arriving in Arthur River. We stopped at Smithton Woolworths as our accommodation was self contained. You can buy a coffee, 4WD passes and ice blocks at Arthur River but I think that’s it. The road from Arthur River to Strahan is gravel and as it’s a designated road we drove it in our hire car after a quick call to Avis to check. As it’s gravel we kept the speed down so took a bit longer to arrive at our destination.
Amazing place to stay in Arthur River. You won't regret it, trust me. Nothing to say. 4 of us really enjoy our first day trip in Tasmania there.
Fantastic house with an incredible view. Extremely comfortable home with all facilities needed for a very relaxed stay.
