The facilities, the staff and the location. We loved our bedroom that came with 4 single beds. A reasonably sized room too, very spacious. Overall, it was a lovely stay! Would highly recommend The Lodge for anyone wanting or needing to stay in the area.

This was our second stay at the Mercure hotel, my husband and I booked it both times for its perfect location to get into Sydney . The hotel staff are very polite, friendly and helpful and above all professional! On our previous trip we stayed for two weeks and got to know the staff and cleaners quite well, this could be a home from home. Also, you get access to the working men's club next door.

I paid a $100 deposit on Thursday, and as of the close of business on Monday, I still have not received my refund. The entire process was frustrating because it was difficult to communicate with the staff. No one seemed able to make decisions or respond to my requests, which caused unnecessary delays and inconvenience. I have stayed in many accommodations over the years, but I have never had such a disappointing experience before.

The host, who is clearly too old and too stubborn to manage a hospitality business, aggressively and hysterically insisted that his "quiet hours" meant CURFEW HOURS, demanding that guests remain locked in the property after a ridiculously early time. We attempted to explain that "quiet hours" means refrain from making noise, not be prisoners in the house, but he was completely irrational, screaming, and utterly refused to listen to reason. He literally took our money for a non-refundable stay and then refused us entry because we had the audacity to want to leave the house later to eat. This is not a hotel, it's a prison run by a tyrant. Hostile, Racist, and Vile The level of hostility was shocking and completely unacceptable. This is not a simple communication error; it quickly devolved into something much darker. The host is a filthy, racist man who made us feel unwelcome and targeted the moment we challenged his insane "curfew" rule. His behavior was entirely predicated on being an overly aggressive bully who believes he can dictate the movements of paying guests based on his own bigoted, outdated views. The Non-Refundable Trap He is now refusing the refund he owes us for a service he actively denied, claiming it is "our fault" for wanting to eat dinner. This is the scam: he secures the non-refundable booking and then harasses the guests with utterly useless, unnecessary calls and endless irrelevant details leading up to the stay, only to pull a stunt like this to ensure he keeps the money while providing zero service. This man and his property should be flagged and removed from the platform. Save your money, save your sanity, and avoid this disgusting property and its vile owner. BOOK ELSEWHERE!

We only needed to be close to Whalan but noticed shops were close. Although David was friendly he did get verbally aggressive if he perceived any of his rules being broken/bent. It was VERY cold and heating was only available in living room and only if David wanted to turn it on
