Pacific Fair Shopping Centre and Jupiters Casino or now called Star Casino are not to be missed.. Restaurants are plentiful and some of the best on the Gold Coast. Moo Moo's steak house, Gemmelli's Italian. The Surf Club Kurrawa has good meals too. The beach is stunning and many enjoy early morning walks. The tram is a wonderful way to get around between Broadbeach and Southport and soon to be extended to Helensvale rail line to Brisbane. Broadbeach is walkable to restaurants and shops if staying in the vicinity. It is much preferable to Surfers Paradise as a place to stay.
14 Merrimac Blvd, Broadbeach "Luxury house" NIGHTMARE PROPERTY!!!!! Beware the owner. Completely rude. We arrived for a 2 night girls weekend with 10 ladies. The pool was dirty, the wheelie bins were full and overflowing with rubish which stank of rotten prawns. Plastic wine glasses, empty boxes in the cuboards, half a roll of toilet paper per bathroom and no spare rolls. There were dirty windows and only 8 towels supplied for 10 people. The lawn hadn't been mowed in ages. We had to purchase toilet rolls, towels, dish washing liquid for a 2 night stay. There was no welcome book telling us how to operate the aircon, lights etc, just unwelcoming signage not to touch anything. The owner on being presented with the issues chose to respond by sending the pool cleaner, but nothing else was addressed. She also overcharged us by $35, saying that it was our responsibility to pay the Stayz fee not only to Stayz, but again to her, so we paid $70 in fees. For a two night stay it cost $2,100 for the 10 of us plus the $35 extra fee. We'd expect a better standard for that outlay. Luxury it was not. Old, tired and poor quality are the earmarks of this property. On the last day, the cleaner turned up at 9.30am, 30 mins before our checkout time, which is just rude. The owner then tried to blame a broken jug on us, which we didnt do and is trying to charge us $25. NIGHTMARE! BEWARE!!!!!
