Lavender Cottage B&B is a fully self-contained, 1860s miners cottage, located just 5 minutes' walk from Burra town center There is a seating area and a kitchen equipped with a microwave. Allowed me to have my large dog inside, just not on the bed, which was perfectly wonderful, slate floors throughout meant pets are easily catered for, and advised me of the bath knowing of my medical condition and that I may have limited mobility, much appreciated! Late checkout and late check-in unexpectedly, were no problem. Found the premises in the dark based on the accurate photo on the website of the front of the cottage. Absolutely loved my stay albeit brief, and returned in same week as so impressed and happy. Felt right at home, air con on when we arrived! Enjoyed the open fire place and wood already to go.My whole stay is warmly remembered! Thank you xx

Beautiful and quaint country town with so much to offer tourists. Locals are kind and proud of their town. Gorgeous riverside park with BBQ and tables and toilets, the passport key tour is wonderful - plan for a whole day. Great shops (especially the newsagent/gift shop) and cafes, although many were closed at the time of our stay due to Christmas holidays. It's close to the Clare Valley, Heysen Trail, and Mintaro Maze, Martindale Hall. Highly recommend.
A fascinating town that makes the very best of its history. Burra's heritage is well presented and easy to access. The staff at the information centre were very helpful And extremely knowledgeable.
Burra is an interesting place, we have visited many times and we always find another surprise! The agriculture and wealth of the surrounding country with abundant crops of barley wheat sorghum lupins canola etc is simply marvellous. Burra is in close location to Mintaro, Clare Valley and other historic towns. Always worth visit. The "Bon Accord Hotel" is very special and a must for good wine, excellent beer, and stimulating conversation. Food just happens to be excellent also!
