An absolutely beautiful place, fabulous beaches, coffee shops, restaurants & bars. Quiet if you want if that way & bustling if you like . A bit hilly if you struggle walking, but that’s great if you want a work out
Caloundra, which is located less than 1.5 hours from greater Brisbane, has loads of holiday options. Perfect for a short holiday or weekend getaway. Check out Clancy's Beachside Takeaway, located across from the public car park at Dicky Beach for fantastic, generous meals at affordable prices. Burgers and fish and chips are outstanding.
Lovely beaches with Surf Life Saving right there. Make you feel safe to swim in the ocean. Plenty of take-away shops of all descriptions and a lot of amenities all along the coast line. A great walking track all along as well.
We live on the Northern end of The Gold Coast, so its just under a 2 hr drive to Caloundra. We love Kings Beach Tavern, as ALL the staff are lovely and they offer a Seniors menu with a great choice. We also go and get fish n chips opposite Dick's Beach and enjoy the view over the beach and waterways, We use Caloundra to go out for day trips to as far as Noosa and Montville and then back to our accommodation, so very enjoyable day trips.
It was a pleasant trip to see family, however the motel was very disappointing and rated far in excess of reality. It was dirty, poorly maintained and a pair of dirty woman's nickers left in a draw
The accommodations were not up to standard. Entry was the rear of the house and to gain access we could not use the finger tip access because there was no shelter from the rain and it didn’t work in the rain!!! The bed did not have a top sheet and the quilt on top was filthy dirty as was the mat in the bedroom we had. The bed legs were off the bed and the bed was on the floor so was too low for us!!! We ordered breakfast that we paid for in advance and waited and waited for breakfast but never received it!!! We left XYL and went and bought breakfast elsewhere!!! We would never recommend XYL Seaside Homestay to anyone. This has nothing to do with the torrential rain that occurred overnight. I don’t expect an entry as the laundry nor do I expect that I do not be refunded for a breakfast that I DID NOT RECEIVE!!!!! Because of the unexpected rain event we had to stay a further 3 more days!!! BUT I WAS NOT RETURNING to XYL Seaside Homestay. If it wasn’t for my son and his wife we would have had to go to a shelter with our dog because we waited for a breakfast that didn’t come and went and purchased breakfast elsewhere before we headed home to Brisbane. If we had been given our breakfast (as we paid for it) we would have made it back home before flooding had occurred on the Bruce Highway. We are owed a REFUND but Kelly has refused to give me a refund and says she will give me credit for next visit???? We WILL NOT be visiting XYL Seaside Homestay EVER again 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡 How can I have my REFUND for a breakfast I never received???? Patricia & Greg Clarke
The amount of excellent little specialties within the apartment was outstanding; such as air fryer, plenty of crockery and cutlery, bowls, platters, etc. The bed was very comfortable. Notes to explain the use and information within the apartment. Friendly permanent resident's. The beautiful view across the street. Very clean and tidy. BBQ on the balcony. Even though we have indicated our complaints below we still enjoyed our holiday immensely and the owner is very thoughtful in making her apartment pleasant for her guests. Thank you.
Location is perfect. Walking distance to Bulcock Beach and Golden Beach. Guzman Y Gomez and Woolworths is next door to the complex. Walking distance (approx 5-10 min ) to main street of Caloundra. Reception staff are always friendly and very accommodating. We always stay here when coming to Caloundra for a short stay.
The view was fabulous, location is excellent, easy walk to local shops, cafes etc. Lovely coastal walkway along the water. Golden Beach is a quieter place than the main part of Caloundra, we would certainly stay again. The room was somewhat dated but adequate, the bed was comfy, just a tired decor.
Perfect location with 180deg uninterrupted views. This perfect location allows you to do some great walks either to Kings Beach or around to Bulcock Beach. This was the 4th time I have stayed at The Waterford....its my go to place in Caloundra now!
Wonderfully clean and spacious apartment with large balcony and the best equipped kitchen I've ever encountered in holiday accommodation. The home baked cookies left by the managers were also a welcome and tasty touch.
Breakfast was wonderful, choice of 4 restaurants under the hotel is exceptional. We also had the added bonus of listening to the entire Caloundra Music Festival, even though we had no clue it was on when we booked.
Great location for relaxed beach holiday. Amazing view of beach from my balcony, with a morning coffee was so special. Clean unit. Everything I needed was available. Friendly staff. Very comfortable bed etc
Great location. Older style apartments but comfortable. Good value for money on the beach at Kings Beach. Park your car & walk to the beach, food, drinks, the Surf Club.
Great hotel lots of accomodation options would be great to go back with kids. Good cheap option for Sunshine Coast stadium as buses went from town
Perfect location, right on the beach and great cafes downstairs on the beach front for brekkie, lunch and afternoon beers!
Amazing location with excellent views and close access to Kings beach. It also has a secure locked up garage and pool.
Lovely owner She stayed up late coz I got there late Lovely, clean, comfortable and warm. Close to Golden Beach.
View, space and cleanliness. Close to Caloundra events centre for daughter and niece end of year concert.
Check in and out was very easy. It was the cheapest place I could find to stay.
Room was very comfortable. Excellent location near the town centre.
Close to Caloundra events centre for dance eisteddfod
Location couldn’t be better! Top-notch coffee on the corner, quiet sandy beach, family-friendly place with pool and BBQ area. Our beautifully furnished unit opened onto a spacious ocean-facing balcony. When bedroom windows were opened, thru breeze eliminated need for A/C. Will come back if we can!
Fantastic views and location. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The room was perfect for our family and presented beautifully.
Everything!!!! Staff were outstanding!!! ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT and we will definitely be back!!!
