Located on an 1848 historical site, just off the Great Ocean Road and 38 minutes' drive from Apollo Bay, Cape Otway Lightstation features stunning views of the Southern Ocean. This place is absolutely beautiful!! The people here were very friendly and kind and made our stay very lovely. The property is very well maintained and offers stunning views. Great Ocean Walk Retreat is located in Glenaire, 13 mi from Apollo Bay and 26 mi from Port Campbell. Free private parking is available on site. The Great Ocean Walk Retreat is an excellent place to use as a base to visit The Great Ocean Road and The Great Ocean Walk. The one-bedroom apartment has all the facilities you could need, even down to a lovely supply of breakfast choices. Its location is central to the surf beaches, the 12 Apostles (and other sand cliffs lookouts), the Otway National Park and Forest. The owners have prepared an information map that lists the various points of interest within both walkable and driveable distance. The only thing to be aware of is that it's about half an hour from the nearest urban centre for food supplies, so you do have to plan ahead. We had four nights here and we would definitely stay here again.
Located in Glenaire, 21 miles from Apollo Bay, Glenaire Cottages has a garden and free WiFi. The country house has a grill. The views are magnificent. The decks have a great view of the surrounding country side with a lot of bird life. The hosts provide food so you can feed the parrots. It is close to the point where the walking track hits the highway, and Joanna beach which is a great surf beach. ( the surf comp at Bells at Easter is moved there if there is no surf at Bells Beach) and its pet friendly too.
Featuring air-conditioned accommodations with a terrace, Cypress Hill is located in Apollo Bay. This self-catered vacation home has a garden and free private parking. We liked everything about the place, it was clean and comfortable and all around a fabulous getaway.
Loved the scenery from the forest to the limestone spectaculars around Port Campbell to the boutique brewey at Forrest It would be perfect if the authorities stopped the helicopter flights at the Apostles. Very noisy and invasive
Best was the lighthouse bathed in the white light at the night and the complete starry sky glowing in the pitch darkness engulfing the entire area where we stayed. This was our second trip. I would recommend travellers to stay overnight for the view and the calmness. It was truly serene.
We had two nights at Cape Otway Lighthouse B&B, it was the highlight of our trip along the Great Ocean Road. The location was spectacular... we particularly enjoyed when the park closed at 5pm and all the tourists left... we had the entire place to ourselves! The facilities were great, we loved that the B&B was well equipped with ground coffee for the plunger, fresh bread and jams, fresh fruit, muesli and Apostles Whey full cream milk.
The location was perfect for us to go to a event at the cape otway lighthouse. The toilet and showers were very nice. The cooking and chillout space was great too. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very affordable.
Such. Great place to enjoy Cape Otway. Very back to nature and relaxing. Seeing Roo’s on your doorstep in the mornings and evenings in their natural habitat was exciting.
