Located in Cessnock, Kearsley Hotel features a restaurant, bar, garden, and free WiFi throughout the property. Staff on site can arrange a shuttle service. I like the vintage inn look with so many potentials. I got the dragon fly inn vibe from Gilmore girls. Me and my friend could not stop talking about the massive potential it had. Little renovation and touch ups could really benefit the overall experience.

One of the best motel I've stayed so far. Friendly staff, quite location, very clean room.not far from town center. This is what I needed after a long journey
Wanted to say actually that we didn't like the fact that we paid at point of booking our accommodation, even though it was free cancellation 2 days prior - we prefer to pay when we arrive or leave. We sort-of think we were tricked into this, and usually don't proceed with booking this way.
Cessnock is an historic town, noted for miners as well as the later vineyards. It still sports quite a bit of commercial activity for a country town, & perhaps more could be made of this. I did take printouts of the wine tours you offered me, but I think tours for the mines around might have been interesting also. We were there for family reasons, not tourism. Our reason for going was for a 70th anniversary of my husband's family's migration to the area on 9th June, 1952. They had a house at Millfield, outside of Cessnock from that date until the 1980's, when my father-in-law passed away. My brother-in-law, who still lives at Cessnock, said at the anniversary get-together, that when this large Scottish family arrived in Millfield in 1952, the population doubled. ;)
The Hunter Valley and Cessnock is stunning, I've been to these places several times. I have only one negative thing to say which is about the potholed condition of the roads, especially the one to Maitland Private Hospital & Stocklands shopping centre (I think this it's name). NASA spent trillions of dollars ensuring that the moon landing avoided the size of the craters in these roads. That being said the roads which were in a poor state of maintenance were in the process of being repaired and improved at this time, it definitely should be completed in the not too distant future. Finally and significantly the Hunter Valley & Cessnock is stunningly beautiful but for me this trip I wasn't about pleasure, recreation nor business for me. It was close to the hospital (Maitland Private Hospital) that my father was a patient in and that was the sole reason for me being there and so I'm not reviewing the area, I am concentrating my review on the Kearsley hotel.
Quite a decent size didn't have to worry about 1 year old doing any damage as all rooms could be closed off. Air con was lovely as quite cool outside A path across to backdoor from drive would be good as very muddy.
Cessnock is a lovely town, close to wineries without being overly expensive. There isn't much to do after dinner so I'd recommend some board games or finding a place with live music. Beautiful cafes and friendly people.
Enjoyed the surrounding vineyards, cheese tastings & gardens, need your own car to get around to make the most it, great for a short weekend away. Cessnock has a couple of nice cafe's & pubs for breakfast or dinner.

Hi Kate, Your property was delightful to stay at. We were at the Hunter Valley for our son’s wedding and the property was very spacious to accommodate our family. We very much appreciated the fireplace and the A/C in the morning. I have no hesitation in recommending others to stay at the home.
