Cow Bay Hilltop Escape is located in Cow Bay. Located 4.3 miles from Daintree Discovery Centre, the property provides a garden and free private parking. House was fantastic with multiple day beds on an extremely large verandah. Views were awesome and can see the beach (although cloudy when we were there). Very secluded and no mobile reception (Belong) to get completely off grid. Games and puzzles were provided for entertainment. Fully equipped kitchen made home cooking a breeze.

This house is amazing. The location is superb with complete privacy in a rainforest setting. There is plenty of room to relax in and enjoy your own private pool. Wildlife is at your door and the view is unbeatable.
Lovely setting surrounded by rainforest. Many shops closed. Weather didn’t help! Cow Bay is no longer the centre as On a previous visit. This has moved to Cape Trib. Many properties for sale throughout the Daintree.
Beautiful tranquil area. We live in Cairns. If you wanna get away from it all, good place to go. Good service at the pub, but it was closed on Sunday night just after 7pm so we couldn't get dinner c.js bar and grill and lync haven kitchens were also shut, so maybe bring your own back up meals just in case. I don't know if kitchens were shut this early because it was because it is off peak season a nd quiet but we were disappointed, we were on a little holiday and were looking forward to eating out, lucky we could make do with salad rolls we made back at our accommodation. Over all cow bay is lovely and locals are welcoming.
Diner was great at Crocodylus. Local people were friendly. Plenty to do and see. Such as walking along the beach. Going to an Ice Cream Factory where the fruit used was from their orchard which where people could roam around and see the fruit trees. Seeing two cassowary in the wild.
We were up early and walking tracks and boardwalks in the area all day. There was plenty of information to read along the walks to help inform and intrigue us about the rainforest. We never felt crowded by other people despite the long holiday weekend. We had an exceptional meal at WHET cafe at Cape Tribulation. It was the best prepared seafood we had on this trip and the setting was lovely for lunch.
The river cruise on the Daintree with Dan Irby was great. We did two tours back to back, the afternoon, and twilight tour. Crocodilus is great to eat at for Breakfast and Dinner and go for a drink. PK's kitchen was out of service as it was renovated. The flavours of soursop and jackfruit icecream is a must.
We enjoyed our stay in Cow Bay, we did a wonderful trip to the Reef with Ocean Safari, zip line trip with Jungle Surfing which was great fun. We had some lovely walks through the amazing rainforest and even saw Cassowaries!! Zamia was a wonderful place to come home to after our adventures.
What a wonderful place! We absolutely loved Crocodylus! The accommodation is very basic, but super clean and comfortable. It is the best possible way to experience the rainforest and it's amazing wildlife. The managers of the place are genuinely nice and kind people who took wonderful care of us. The food is fantastic - especially the haloumi dinner main. No matter what your budget is - big or small, try Crocodylus, you will make unique memories and experience fabulous service, which even many 5 star hotels lack. Thank you so much!
We highly recommend staying at Cow Bay Homestead. The host, the atmosphere, other guests were all really lovely. The location is special, an idyllic getaway as there is no reception nor internet. Marion provided us with a map and gave us lots of information about the various attractions, places to go and things to do. We were able to walk around the lovely grounds too, if only we had the time!!
The location was spectacular. It was secluded which made it so special in amongst the Daintree. The hosts were super lovely and accomodating. Pool was certainly a highlight.
Great brekkie included with AMAZING coffee! Lovely hosts with great advice to maximise our stay in the rainforest. Cow Bay was a particular highlight with the rope swing!
Please take note of previous comment. It was meant for this space. There is Nothing I Did not like. Maybe just a hairdryer?? 😜
