Perfect location as it’s right next to visitor centre where we had to take cradle shuttle bus. Moreover, all the cottages are separately located from each other, so it feels like we were staying at the middle of forest, and we loved it!
Moina (Near Cradle Mountain)
Located in Moina, Wombat Cabin is a chalet featuring a barbecue. The unit is 12 mi from Cradle Mountain National Park. Free private parking is available on site. The unit is equipped with a kitchen. EVERYTHING!! I loved that cabin since the first moment I went in; it is super cosy; I loved the fired place and all the supplies; Sean provides a lot of things to make your stay as comfortable as possible. There is a first aid kid, crackers, popcorn, Nutella, bacon, eggs, etc. It was such a surprise to see all the supplies. There were also many movies to watch, games, books and colouring books and pencils. The lack of wifi won't be a problem.

Hotel in Moina
Located in Moina, Cradle forest inn has a bar, garden and terrace. The hotel has family rooms. At the hotel, the rooms come with a closet, a TV, a private bathroom, bed linen and towels. Amazing location and hospitality by the host exceeded expectations. The food was great and overall we had a nice stay.
Amazing view. We got quite an interesting experience wheen we got to see sub, rain, hail, snow and rainbow all in 1 day. Would recommend everyone to prepare for all sorts of weather when they plan to do some hikes there. The rain was heavier and longer than we anticipated so our plan to do dove lake circuit didnt happen. We did other small walks instead but even so we wasted almost an hour under shelter waiting for the rain to stop before we could head back to ronny creek bus stop.
A very beautiful place with lots of amazing sceneries to enjoy. The different walks around the area are varied, you just have to go with the ones you can complete. I real enjoyed my walks, from the easy ones like Enchanted Walk, to the relaxing one around Dove Lake, so pretty, have your cameras ready. I did a few years ago the one to Marions' Lookout and that was a challenge: strong wind that day made the walk very scary!! Would definitely come back and do more walks, and the one around Dove Lake again, just for fun :) Also, there are plenty of gorgeous wombats at Cradle Mountain.
Being tourists but not hikers we took a two hour tour organised by McDermots Coach Tours . It was excellent , it takes you to Dove Lake and Waldheim Cottage. Our guide Cathy was so knowledgeable and informative. Was about $30 each . Wonderful orientation.
The location was excellent to access the bus into the walking areas of the park. Good and easy parking. Dinner was good. We had breakfast included in our rate and it was a good way to start the day!! We were upgraded to a spa suite which was absolutely brilliant. All cabins had fires which brings such a atmosphere to the cabin. We would love to visit again when it’s snowing.
We loved the hike around Dove Lake. We also went to Wilkes Lake and Crater Lake. The climb to Marion's Lookout was challenging, but the view was definitely worth it. We were blessed with perfect weather. The staff at the visitor's centre were very knowledgable and helpful.
A visit to the Visitor Centre is a must to get a map of the available walks. The walks vary from very easy to very challenging. The scenery varies wildly, from open meadows to dense rain forest. The walks from an easy gradient to lots of stone steps to boardwalks. Make sure you have good sturdy footwear, a back pack with food and water. That way you can immerse yourself in the beauty of Cradle Mountain.
Cradle Mountain
WE LIVED IN STANDARD COTTAGES, AGREED ITS IN PERFECT LOCATION WITH ALL AMENTIES BUT ITS BIT OVERPRICED I MEAN 375 FOR ONE NIGHT IS NOT REASONABLE AS ITS NOT SOMETHING LIKE 7 STAR HOTEL OR FACILITIES. BUT STAFF AMENTIES AND CLEANLINESS IS ALL GOOD. BUT I WOULD TRY SOMETHING CHEAPER NEXT IME
Lovely location for our stay at Cradle Mountain, cosy fires lit all around the building throughout the day. Mulled wine and baileys hot chocolate around the fire in the evening was a great finish after a day of hiking cradle mountain national park. Would highly recommend.

Lovely setting. A bit tough that payment by credit card attracts up to 3.5%.
