Wombat Cabin is a cosy, comfortable Cabin, 15 minutes from the National Park. The kitchen is fully equipped and the wood burn fire heated the whole cabin. We enjoyed the pademelons coming each evening to feed. The owner is very helpful and we had a great experience in Wombat Cabin! I would highly recommend it as a place to stay if you want to explore Cradle Mountain.

Moina (Near Cradle Mountain)
Located in Moina in the Tasmania region, Cradle Alpine Retreat provides accommodations with free private parking.
The apartment was clean, comfortable, spacious, cozy, and quiet. It had a wood burning stove (wood supplied). The location was about a 25-minute drive to Cradle Mountain National Park, where there is plenty of hiking and scenery. We had a full-size kitchen (full-size refrigerator, etc.), so we prepared our own meals, since there is no restaurant nearby. The lodging supplied breakfast items such as eggs, bacon, milk, butter, jam, and milk. We bought our own juice and fruit. The closest restaurant is at Cradle Mountain Hotel at the park, but we didn't want to drive after dark, so we bought our groceries in Sheffield (half hour drive) before arriving to the lodging. If you want to have an early meal or lunch, there is a cafe at the visitor's center in the park (open to 4/5 PM) and the restaurant at Cradle Mountain Hotel.

This is an amazing place, nestled in beautiful surroundings
Shuttle bus provides easy access to attraction points without much walking if preferred. There were Wombats near the Ronny Creek shuttle bus stop - around noon/lunchtime as opposed to very early morning. Recommend visiting Devils @ Cradle for animal lovers, the feeding tour (was with Pru the night we visited) was very informative and interesting. Limited food options though - local restaurants only (slightly pricey - guess normal for mountain location), getting snacks/groceries at closest town nearby recommended (eg. Woolworths in Deloraine).
Perfect getaway! The atmosphere was perfect for relaxing in nature. Lovely views, nature and animals! Make sure to stay here at least two days. The hotels and resorts offer good food, even for vegans.
We like that it’s close to cradle mountain walks, our favourite was the dove lake walk. We ate at the hotel, not enough food option there. The bus to and from the park was very easily accessible. The other hotel guests has no consideration for other guests at the time we were there, they were very noisy, banging on doors to call their friends. Next time we would love to get there early to enjoy the surroundings.
All the scenes in Cradle Mt. are spectacular and beautiful. If you had a bad day recently, here could be your refuge for sure. When you walk on the track, even just around the Dove lake, the feeling is totally different. That is a little bit way out, but true. Using your heart to feel the world. Tips: 1. Get up early to enjoy. Avoid crowded people 2. Get some energy bars or bread instead of chips. The birds are terrified. 3. Even the short track needs 1~2hr. Get prepared first [Important] : Enjoy, have fun.
A fabulous place to stay! Some great short and longer walks around the Village and very close to the Information Centre and shuttle to Cradle Mountain. The cabin was clean, quiet and very warm! Would definitely stay here again!
I like self contained accommodation and so I brought pre-prepared food with me as the little shops here are rather expensive. However there are many types of food services in this locality within five minutes drive of your accommodation from the cafe at the National Parks center - good coffee! to the more upmarket Highland Chalet chefs. I do recommend the Bistro at the Tavern for hearty food, lovely wood fire and good atmosphere. Take the Shuttle buses around for very easy access all through the
