Cradle Mountain Highlanders offers secluded cabins on the edge of Cradle Mountain National Park. It provides convenient, self-catering facilities and is a 5-minute drive from the park’s entrance.

It is quiet, the cabins are well spread out, and it’s located so closed to the visitor centre. The cabin we stayed in is spacious, clean and has everything we need to keep us warm and snug. tThe kitchen is very well equipped so we could cook our meals. Dianne was very welcoming and the gentleman staff was very nice to teach us how to lit the wood fire.

No visit to Tasmania is complete without visiting the iconic Cradle Mountain - the heart and soul of Tasmania Just make sure you book your accommodation well in advance especially in high season, and when you are there make sure to visit the Visitor Centre for the most up to date travel information.

Shuttle bus provides easy access to attraction points without much walking if preferred. There were Wombats near the Ronny Creek shuttle bus stop - around noon/lunchtime as opposed to very early morning. Recommend visiting Devils @ Cradle for animal lovers, the feeding tour (was with Pru the night we visited) was very informative and interesting. Limited food options though - local restaurants only (slightly pricey - guess normal for mountain location), getting snacks/groceries at closest town nearby recommended (eg. Woolworths in Deloraine).

We like that it’s close to cradle mountain walks, our favourite was the dove lake walk. We ate at the hotel, not enough food option there. The bus to and from the park was very easily accessible. The other hotel guests has no consideration for other guests at the time we were there, they were very noisy, banging on doors to call their friends. Next time we would love to get there early to enjoy the surroundings.

All the scenes in Cradle Mt. are spectacular and beautiful.

All the scenes in Cradle Mt. are spectacular and beautiful. If you had a bad day recently, here could be your refuge for sure. When you walk on the track, even just around the Dove lake, the feeling is totally different. That is a little bit way out, but true. Using your heart to feel the world. Tips: 1. Get up early to enjoy. Avoid crowded people 2. Get some energy bars or bread instead of chips. The birds are terrified. 3. Even the short track needs 1~2hr. Get prepared first [Important] : Enjoy, have fun.

We absolutely loved our stay at The Highlanders. Gorgeous rustic cabins with kitchen facilities, combustion heater, huge bathroom and comfy bed. We bought some food at Launceston and put it in a cooler bag for the trip to Cradle Mountain as we had heard that groceries are pretty expensive at the general store there. We stayed at Cradle Mountain Lodge 10 years ago but much prefer the privacy and rustic decor at The Highlanders cabins. We would definitely stay again if we came back to Cradle Mountain. 10 out of 10.

Location was great for catching the Cradle Mountain bus into Cradle Mountain. Breakfast had excellent options, room was neat, cute with great views to spy on cheeky wombats, great walks to catch wombats in the afternoon/evenings, the gas fire place was a nice touch and it was nice to be grounded without the distruption of wifi/TV. Peppers was a nice place to unwind and relax away from socials and the outside world. Wifi worked well in the lounge. Staff were really welcoming and friendly

Cradle Mountain is a very special place and Highlander Cottages is just the icing on the cake. Beautiful log cabins, super clean, perfect location, and so comfortable. All of us loved the comfy beds. And it was so amazing to wake up to a beautiful Pandemelon outside our cabin on our final day after a wonderful stay. I would highly recommend a stay here, it is absolutely beautiful.

Beautifully located cottages in the middle of the forest. Lovely staff. Clean, comfortable interiors. Our cottage had a balcony facing the forest. There was a huge spa bath in the middle of the room and a window daybed, both with a view of the forest. The hotel lounge was very pleasant, and we enjoyed the happy hour next to the fireplace there and the view of the cradle mountain.

Excellent location, as close as you can stay to Cradle Mountain National Park. Sits well in it's surroundings with many of the cabins looking out onto forest, whilst the views from the dinning room are fantastic. Included breakfast was varied and all of good quality in cozy surroundings.

Really? It's Cradle Mountain. The most expensive stay of our trip but so worth it. We did a couple of amazing hikes. The cabin was great and it was only expensive because it was just the 2 of us for 2 bedrooms...
