The room / villa was very spacious with a living area, kitchenette and perfect little porch for relaxing. Best of all we’re the wonderful owners, Haley and Mike, who were so welcoming and helpful in giving us tips on places not to be missed along with information on the local plants and wildlife. They served a delicious healthy breakfast on the veranda overlooking the pool and backyard and open space. Can’t say enough nice things about this lovely hideaway in Daintree Village!
Located on the Daintree River with views of the tropical rainforest and surrounding mountains, Daintree Riverview Lodges each feature a private private bathroom and access to a large sheltered wooden... Our hosts were gracious to aid us in all of our travel issues. Our flight into Cairns left my bag back in Sydney and continued to cancel flights in which my bag would fly on. Throughout this process of coordinating me gathering all my belongings, Sally was so gracious and helpful coordinating with the airport and arranging pickup while we enjoyed the local environment. Our hosts were so approachable, the tour on the river was a walk from our private accommodation. The morning teatime outside on the terrace overlooking the rainforest/river was an amazing way to wake yourself up. We even saw crocodiles from the limited portion of the river we were exposed to. The bed was very comfortable and accommodating. The room was cozy and we fell asleep to the sound of the rain and animals. They had everything we needed and assisted when we did not. This was the favorite accommodation of our trip throughout the Eastern Peninsula of Australia and both North and South Island of New Zealand.

Daintree Eco Lodge & Spa is located in the middle of the Daintree National Park Rainforest. This boutique lodge has a day spa and an on site restaurant, which overlooks the freshwater lagoon. The serenity of Daintree was beyond what was described on-line.
So many things to do but definitely get 4wd so you can fully experience it without being worried because during rainy season it can be a bit intense. Croc tours are a must of course but also ask locals before doing anything, they know the area best (of course)
Our trip hasn’t finished yet. But we loved the Daintree Village, Port Douglas and Mossman. Just arrived at Cape Tribulation and disappointed that there aren’t any serious walking tracks, and especially no phone connection (because since we’ve been away our old dog has taken a bad turn for the worst and will probably die before we return to Adelaide, so we’re having trouble communicating with children as how to deal with the situation).
Where to start, experiencing the sights, sounds and smells of this part of Australia is magical. The anticipation of a possible meeting with either a Cassowary or Crocodile adds drama while the beautiful blue Ulysses Butterful flutters past. Listening to the familiar and not so familiar bird calls while anticipating the taste of the tropical fruit sorbets....Jackfruit, Davidson Plum, Banana or Passionfruit to name a few. Idyllic!!
Greatly enjoyed the days spent in the Daintree. The Daintree Wilderness Lodge is wonderful. Had a delicious barramundi dinner at the Cape Trib Beach House Tides B&R. The weather cooperated, considering it was the 'wet' season, for walks and hikes. Saw a crok on the CapeTrib Wilderness Cruise. Learned much at the Daintree Discovery center.
I recommend a rainforest guided tour by Cooper Creek Wilderness across the river up towards Cape Tribulation. Have a look at their website and they can pretty much plan a day for you. November to May is wet season (although recent years still dry) and hotter so crocs are typically underwater and impossible to spot sightseeing. Cooler months they bask on the banks. Go June - October to see a croc in the wild.
What a wonderful place to stay. We had an enquire, could not fault it at all. The room was a good size clean and very comfortable. Being able to wander around the zoo at our leisure and as often as we wanted was a bonus. The owners were both welcoming and friendly. It was a pleasure to see two people work so well together.

Daphne was a great host, so friendly and full of local knowledge. The location was great, near the Daintree Village. Very quiet, only heard birds, which we didn’t mind. Saw wallabies, birds and flowers. Stayed in a bungalow with two people, was perfect. Breakfast was supplied and delicious.
Barry and Diane are the most welcoming hosts. We enjoyed the amazing breakfast (tropical fruit platter + cooked breakfast), spectacular views and wildlife of the Daintree River on the private terrace every day.
Beautiful location in Daintree rainforest. Staff were lovely and friendly. Food was excellent. Comfy beds. Great experience being able to sleep with doors open and listen to rainforest sounds whilst we slept.
Fantastic location Sally the owner is wonderful . The hotel next door was closed for the evening so she booked us a table locally .
If it's "unique" you want this is for you. If your looking for clean high standard accommodation this is not for you.
Beautiful, brand new accommodation with a lovely informal approach. The accommodation also has a licensed bar and a pool.
