Hotel in Darwin CBD, Darwin
Darwin City Hotel is located in the Darwin CBD district, just a 2-minute walk from Crocosaurus Cove and an 8-minute walk from Darwin Entertainment Center. The staff at Darwin City Hotel were exceptionally friendly and helpful! We only had one night here, followed by a very long day (before a red-eye flight out of Darwin). The team offered a slightly later checkout, despite the hotel being fully booked. We were able to leave our bags - and access them multiple times to change, etc. Finally, we could take a shower before heading off to the airport. Highly recommended!

Many families visiting Darwin loved staying at Oaks Darwin Elan Hotel, Quality Hotel Darwin Airport, and Argus Hotel Darwin.
Tropical weather and fabulous walks seeing so many different birds and the lush trees. We didn’t have a car and the bus service was a little sketchy but enjoyed the many walks including the creek walk leading to Nightcliffe beach and promenade walks, all on the flat . I was hoping to swim but it was Box jelly fish season ( deadly ) and warnings of crocodiles. Would love to return to Darwin for more exploring . In our experience we found people friendly and laid back .
There are plenty of things to do for 4-5 days. We visited both museums, the beach, market, waterfront, the Wharf and the CBD. We spent a half day at the Botanic Gardens relaxing. We also rode our bikes along the extensive bike paths and saw a lot of the bayside and beaches that way. We spent a whole day down near Stokes Hill Wharf and waterfront, visiting places of interest, relaxing eating a nice meal and enjoining the bay views. The Royal Flying Doctor and WW2 Bombing of Darwin story on the wharf was outstanding with interactive and Virtual Reality Technology. There Aboriginal Bush Traders Shop and cafe was great to obtain some nice gifts to take home. The coffee was great there. There are plenty of street art alleyways. The shops which sell indigenous are are very interesting to go into as well. I
I visited Darwin in May. It was a great time of year to visit. The weather was perfect, not too hot, not too cold, just right. There are some great restaurants to visit and everyone seemed quite happy and kept to themselves. I felt safe walking around and driving around. I stayed in Palmerston for the first few nights and then on the Esplanade for the next few nights. I would recommend staying on the Esplanade as Palmerston is a about 20 minutes drive from the main area. I found it easy to get around the main area either by walking or using the electric scooters. You must visit Berry Springs if you can, it was beautiful. Also Litchfield National Park is worth a visit too, especially Florence Falls. Pack your swimmers! The Original Adelaide River Queen Jumping Crocodile Cruises is also worth a look. I enjoyed it but you have to book ahead otherwise you will miss out as it is quite popular!
I loved Darwin from the friendly locals to the great weather and the history of this place. Food was great and everything is within walking distance. This was my first time to Darwin and certainly won't be my last. Can't wait to get back there.
Our trip was only for 8 days, 2-3 weeks would have been smashing, the weather, super friendly people, and lots of amazing things to see and do. I had never been to Darwin before and I was really surprised and delighted with our little breakaway. I would highly recommend this destination for anyone's bucket list for a break from the winter chills.
We did 3 very long day trips (Kakadu, Katherine Gorge & Litchfield) with AAT which were very good. Only complaint was the driver on the Litchfield Trip was rather rude. Other than that the rest of the trips were very good and the other two lady drivers were very good, professional and very helpful. We hired a car for 5 days which you definitely need a vehicle and did our own sight seeing. We enjoyed our stay in NT and seeing the sights in and out of Darwin. The sunsets at Mindil Beach are magnificent. Also the guided tour of Parliament House was very interesting. Speakers Corner Cafe was very nice and had a great view surrounded by manicured lawns and shrubs. Don't expect to find great coffee in Darwin. However we went to a a very good cafe - Sweet Brew Stuart Highway Stuart Park which served good coffee just as we requested and they had very tasty pastries. Highl;y recommend this cafe for good food and coffee.

This apartment was the ideal place to stay for our week holiday in Darwin. The location is perfect being so close to the city, shops and restaurants and yet is nice and quite. The view from the livingroom and balcony is totally fantastic and is such a comfortable relaxing spot to sit and unwind. The cleanliness of the apartment is outstanding and is so well kitted out. The owner Sue is great with her messages making finding the accommodation & access very easy. We highly recommend this great apartment.
We recently had two stays at this hotel in a one bedroom apartment. It was excellent to be self contained, the laundry facilities were well used after a few remote trips in between stays. Due to the location it was an easy walk to wherever we needed to go. One Sunday afternoon we caught the bus to Mindle Market. The staff we encountered were friendly, efficient and always with a smile. We slept really well and loved the view over Darwin from the 25th floor. We highly recommend this hotel.
Parap, Darwin
Unsure why you asked if we liked the breakfast, there is no cafe/restaurant on site. I was travelling with my adult son and the apartment was large enough for the both of us as we don't live in the same house back home. It was a convenient location for us to stay as we were visiting family in Stuart Park, for others it may have been a little far away from the city/esplanade/waterfront
I always stay at this hotel whenever I visit Darwin and am always sad to leave - I loved the water and city views from my room and the food at the hotel’s restaurant was delicious. Lovely room, great wifi, tasty breakfast, friendly and welcoming staff and a wonderful location - what more could you ask for? Thank you for another flawless stay, Argus Hotel, see you next time!
We liked everything about this hotel. Our room was clean and nicely fitted out, as was the bathroom. It was within walking distance to restaurants and shopping in the city. They have 24 hour reception so it is a secure hotel with secure parking. Extremely affordable for a 4.5 star hotel. Will definitely stay again.
Stayed in room D - and with an entrance to the pool directly opposite our door, is was fabulous. Room was really tidy and the sheets were clean. Beds were super comfy too. Having a bar and bottleshop attached to the hotel was great. All the room needed was a microwave.
Winnellie, Darwin
Cheapest place I could find in Darwin at short notice, everywhere else was price gouging at $500+ per night. Still not impressed at parting with $150. Communication with the property was good, excellent instructions on how to get there and get in after hours.
Darwin CBD, Darwin
The room was spacious for two of us. It's very nice settings and clean. The pool very big and have some private pool to hang out. The location of the hotel is very strategic as we can easily access to shopping mall or woolies just around the corner.
Our room was very nice and clean. Loved the pool. Easy walk to a lot of restaurants, bars and a shopping mall. Woolworths and BWS were very close. The restaurant and bar at the hotel were very good. The front desk staff were very helpful.

This hotel is a hidden gem. Despite being on the fringes of Darwin City it’s a great hotel. Clean and spacious. It has a great pool and friendly staff. The rooms have a kitchenette and beds are comfy.
Darwin CBD, Darwin
Great location within walking distance to shops, cafes and bars. Liked the lush garden village style feel of the Hotel as opposed to a Hi-Rise apartment. Nice to have laundry facilities on site.
We chose this hotel because it was right next to the airport and we landed after midnight. The reception was open, and we got our room right away. Room was as expected - no issues.
Darwin CBD, Darwin
Nice hotel on the waterfront in the centre of Darwin. Good access to centre city and bars and restaurants. Pleasant Walks to Stokes Wharf and shopping areas.
Darwin CBD, Darwin
Best location to stay in Darwin. Excellent proximity to the waterfront, Dining and the City center. View over the harbour is a must.
Berrimah, Darwin
Bit far out of Darwin city but hotel is excellent. There was no breakfast available, the restaurnant was not open.
Best location in Darwin for food, fun and family!
Darwin CBD, Darwin
The very large, two bedroom / two bath, modern apartment was perfect for our Christmas celebration. We slept, cooked, ate, worked out in the exercise room and relaxed here. All utensils were available for cooking and we were given extra pots, when we needed them. Entire apartment and kitchen was spotlessly clean. Washer and Dryer were a nice plus. Staff was very helpful answering all our questions. Parking on the street was free, because of the holidays and shopping very near by. Location almost directly downtown and hence everything that we needed was within walking distance.
Larrakeyah, Darwin
Staff were lovely and helpful! Room was clean and tidy, had everything we needed. Parking was secure, location was quiet! We didn't get to use the pool but there is also a nice pool area perfect for families and solo travellers.
The Gardens, Darwin
All of it! Amazing room. We had the room right on the end so we had an amazing view of the beach and pool. Very comfortable and a beautiful room.
Darwin
Great facilities and staff always so helpful. Permanent security staff to keep away brawling drunks is a good idea.
