We booked a room for 3 and got a separate bedroom with a double bed and a King in the main room. Lots of space. There is a bit of a kitchen area. Has a small balcony that was great for watching sunset. Must have decent insulation as we didn't hear much noise.

Although on Darwins main street leading to the busy shopping and entetainment centre, the motel seemed far from the madding crowd. Darwin city centre is a livewire of a night, but that had little impact the solitude of the motel environment. All of the above were of walking distance as was the harbour and surrounds. I got what paid for, and that was all I needed. Pleasant and convenient place to stay.

Darwin displays a cocktail of cultures from ‘Aussie larrikins’ to the local Aboriginals from Larrakia Country. Throw in an influx of international visitors who now call the Top End of Australia home, and this concoction bedazzles with busy outdoor markets and an adequate supply of drinking holes (pubs).
The modern Darwin Wharf precinct, including Stokes Hill Wharf, still gleams on those endless summer days having been rebuilt after the destruction caused both during World War II bombings and Cyclone Tracey. Grab a bar stool with a view of the harbour or a seat on a terrace and sip a cool drink in Australia’s northernmost, tropical capital city.
A popular time for tourists is Darwin’s dry season that starts in May and ends in October. If you prefer it hot and humid, then the end of the wet season can be spectacular when the waterfalls in Kakadu and Litchfield national parks are at their mightiest.
Australia’s wild frontier can be reached all the way from Adelaide and Alice Springs along the picturesque Stuart Highway that ends at Daly Street in the CBD. Outside the centre are the natural surrounds in Palmerston, Humpty Doo and closer by is Mindil Beach with its famous Sunset Market.
Darwin International Airport has international flights from Singapore and Bali. You can choose from a variety of hotels, hostels and apartments on Booking.com.
Go to the night market for some interesting food. The Mary River cruise was really good and the waterfalls in Litchfield Park were impressive (you can swim croc free at some of them. Nice break from the heat.

Darwin has an enormous variety of things to see and do. Dining out was an experience you should have. If you are an adamant fisher, then this is the place to come to. Charter fishing is the best way to go. Plenty of hard fighting fish to wrestle with, and incredibly good eating.

Excellent place to start your exploration of the Top End of Australia.
City itself also has quite a lot to offer attraction-wise. The hop-on hop-off bus is a great way to start exploring Darwin.
The bus services in Darwin are free of charge between September 30 2024 and June 30 2025.
Mindil beach sunset is gorgeous, the sunset market IMO a bit of a hype with most of the stalls being either food or drinks related.
Bus nr.4 takes you there and back again and also has a stop at Woolworth.
The visitor center is an excellent place to start planning your trips and has very helpful staff.

It was easy to walk around, but the hop on and off bus was a good option to see the museum’s etc, the Stokes Harbour free bus was good as well.
Litchfield and Kakadu were easy drives with a hire car , we could have spent more time in Kakadu there’s lots to see, 2 nights wasn’t enough.
Coffee in the Speakers corner coffee shop in Parliament House was great and then you can do your own tour or there is a tour every Friday morning.
The Cavenagh Hotel for a steak on their Thursday night special is a must:)

Darwin is a beautiful city as it's not so big that you get lost. It's easy to navigate, I used the Beam scooters a lot which were very handy. I also used the free bus service to the markets.
We spent over 2hrs at the Botanical Gardens and still didn't see it all!
Lots to see and do, the highlight was the Sunset Harbour Cruise on the 50ft catamaran which was fantastic, food and wine flowed all evening and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Great location close to Cullen Bay Marina and a short drive to Darwin CBD. 2 bed apartment was a good size for our family of 4. Had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and beds were great. Easy to check in late due to our late night flight! Kids loved the swimming pool too.
I had a wonderful experience at this hotel. It offers excellent value for the money, with a prime location close to the Darwin Esplanade and city center. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, making my stay even more enjoyable.
Walking distance from the airport (they also offer a shuttle) so it’s a great option for those flying in or out of Darwin late at night. The rooms are fine, what you would expect for a short stay hotel next to an airport.
