Originally built in the 1800’s, Blakes Manor Self Contained Heritage Accommodation offers free Wi-Fi and communal BBQ facilities. All suites feature a kitchenette with a stove. Our hosts, Geogia and Peter, were most welcoming and informative. There was excellent communication on booking and on the day of arrival. The unit was well set up and we appreciated the eggs, bacon, juice, cereal and freshly baked bread with butter and jam for us to make for our first day's breakfast. Deloraine is a great little town and we were visiting the Craft Market there. Blake's Manor is quite central and only one block back from the main street, so is a great location. Woolworths supermarket is half a block away. The room had a microwave, portable hotplate and large electric frying pan and an extraction fan for cooking. But we ate out apart from cooking up breakfast one morning. The gardens are lovely and the traditional touches make the experience more authentic. We were very comfortable in the 3 bedroom unit and look forward to visiting again.

Lots to see and do in this arty town, the river walk is very picturesque and the town has lots of old buildings to photograph. Lots of quality food and coffee places also. Lots of shopping opportunities. Friendly and helpful locals. Try the Empire hotel not only to stay, but to eat! Great trendy menu and a great cafe with delicious cakes and slices. Try the Colour Drop for clothes and handbags. Willis and Friends for an amazing selection of men's and women's clothes.
Deloraine is quaint old town on the banks of the river, which still have platypus living in it. The town has everything you need and is close to other attractions. It has a few good pubs/hotels to eat at although the takeaway. There are a few good pubs/hotels in town to eat at, however the takeaway options were limited. The Empire Hotel runs free Platypus tours at around 5pm most days. An excellent way to get an insight into the mysterious little creature.
Loved the atmosphere at the Empire. A free tour with an informative guide to see the platypus habitat, and indeed we saw them. It was a beaut bonus. It’s a charming town with lots of craft and art to explore. Absolutely loved the golf course! It’s a real draw card for us
The Information Centre is a must for visitors! The staff were so helpful, the displays well thought out and excellent, especially the Silks and Yarns! The surrounding districts had lots of interesting things to see.
Deloraine is a pretty and historic town beside the Meander River in the northern part of Tasmania. We chose to stay here because it is a short pleasant drive to the Car ferry in Devonport. The main street had a variety of stores, from provisions to pretty gift shops and local produce. There were several good eating places with excellent food. Nice areas along the riverside, and easy access to other historic towns.
Deloraine was a country town with country hospitality. It had a large Woolworrths supermarket, a fascinating museum and a very interesting river walk with an old hydro power source directly opposite the hotel. It was centrally located with Cradle Mountain, Launceston and Deonport within easy reach on good roads. A very interesting salmon farm was not far from the town too. I spent several days there and enjoyed my stay.
Great central place in the middle of Deloraine. The owners and staff were very friendly and made me feel at home. The Breakfast was free and had everything you could need, toast, yoghurt, fruit, fruit juice, cereals, tea and coffee. The breakfast room is a friendly space. The food was amazing, they have a great menu. I was surprised at how trendy the menu was and it had a lot of choices. All in all a great place to stay.

All in all a great place to stay. Arcoona Manor is a beautiful historic property, with lovely established gardens. Breakfast was fabulous, served in the original ballroom of the manor and the ground floor suite is spacious to say the least with a full sized private lounge room overlooking the gardens and Deloraine.
Wonderful hospitality with attention to detail- all the little touches to make the stay homely were much appreciated- homemade bread, breakfast items, chocolates, arvo tea. The grounds were beautiful and the rooms comfy, tidy and clean. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Deloraine.
Deloraine
The location of the property is close to everything that we wanted to see so that was great. Loved that it was a full house experience instead of a hotel room. Having a fire was delightful
The hotel had what I needed to enjoy the area, a clean room a nice restaurant and a pub. I would highly recommend the Deloraine Hotel.
