It is getting loved to death because it is a great place. Stay in Broadbeach for the accommodation, food and shopping, but get out of town for a bit of space on the Northern Beaches of NSW or Hinterland behind the Coast.

We arrived on Thursday and left on Sunday and had gorgeous blue skies and sunshine everyday. We bought a Go Explore card each for use on the G-tram & buses which were great to get around town. Easy to use, we travelled from one end to the other stopping at different stops to explore along the way.

Plenty to do at the Gold Coast and a host of delicious food places, one of my favourites was Alfresco (Italian) for dinner in Surfers and Fishbowl (takeaway healthy salads/protein - not just FISH!) - probably my favourite lunch of the trip. Easy to walk up the beach and you're in Surfers Paradise central or down the beach the other way, coffee and cafes every few hundred metres, spoilt for choice. We stayed at Broadbeach which is more laid back than Surfers Central. Plenty Lime bikes to hire - you could get at long way along a path on the beachfront if you wanted to travel quickly. We went to Sea World - easy to get to as we had a car, driving and getting about is easy in Queensland. Travelling after 3pm is busy on the roads. We flew out of Coolangatta this time. Excellent airport and I'd definitely do that again.

We are an older couple and the Coolangatta end of the Gold Coast is better for us. It is less busy. The beaches are great. It is lovely to walk up to the headland. You can view whales from there. For young families, the beach is good and easy seimming. Eateries, movies, gelato shops are close. The Currumbin bird sanctuary is not far. The airport is close. The Oaks Calypso has a great pool with a water slide and spa. Traffic to the north is bad. Take public transport.
Great place to stay for a family with 2 kids. The photos don't do this place justice at all. Views were phenomenal. I typically stayed at 5 star hotels when I travel so I was very close to cancelling. Fortunately, I didn't. It was spacious and the furniture was perfect for my 11 month old to crawl around and explore the whole place. Walking distance to play grounds and great restaurants. The added free extras such as baby cot and high chair was very much appreciated.
Location. Fantastic views of ocean. Proximity to beach, restaurants, supermarkets, public transport. Very helpful manager. Cheaper than most apartments beach side on the Gold Coast. A nice touch was the ability to store luggage and use the pool even after checking out. Very useful for guests with late flights.
