Great things about Grafton are the Grafton pool, the river, Shopping World, Heart and Soul coffee shop, See Park, Jacaranda Park. Of course you need to get to the Jacaranda Festival in the 1st week of November, to see the amazing trees, markets, shop displays, flower show, woodworking and boat displays, old car show, live performances, fireworks, float parade and the Jacaranda ice cream from 50s themed ice cream shop 'I Scream'!
Grafton has all the charm and beauty of architecture from different times and lovely avenues of old trees. It's the natural beauty of the magnificent river and the surrounding country that makes you want to stay longer.
In my view this is a nicer place to say than bustling Coffs Harbour (unless you like the bustle) because it's quieter, still has everything you want, and most particularly is so much closer to one of the most gorgeous and brilliant drives anywhere in Australia - Gwydir Highway from Jackadgery to Glen Innes.
We made a last minute reservation to stay over night on our drive to Brisbane, The manger was extremely accommodating with our late check in (outside of normal hours), offering to leave the keys and directing us to the best parking. The rooms were quite spacious, air conditioned and had everything I needed. For me the only down side was the noise of the fridge, The beds were super comfy and firm. I will stay again.
People are very friendly, obliging and willing to help. Having breakfast they came to our table and gave us much needed information. The THAI restaurant in the main street has delicious food and very affordable. The Jacarandas are SPECTACULAR!
I love everything about staying in the cabins here. The location is great for where I need to get to, and the cabin has everything I need for my stay. I am excited that I have changed roles and will now be travelling monthly to Grafton so I can stay here more often. I appreciate that I can check in late with ease and the office staff are always helpful.
