The hotel was just what I expected after reading other reviews the manager and staff were very polite and helpful , the room was clean and as suggested by the manager I used the car ferry the next day to shorten my trip back to the highway to travel north.
Hotel Granya is a few k's from the nearest shop, so if you have need of cigarettes or groceries then make sure you bring your own. Pub counter meals are yummy though and very reasonably priced. Little grassed area for a dog to play in. Nice beer garden overlooking a very scenic part of the world. Whole place feels cosy and homely, although I believe it had a troubled history as a recovering addict centre. It now feels arty and real. Could be haunted, who knows, but overall by benevolent spirits. All in all a most unusual hotel, nothing franchised or bubble gum about it. Will appeal to writers, drifters, gypsies and thinkers rather than family groups looking for a theme park. Definitely lodge there again should I find myself in the area.
