What a special stay. The safari tent was super kid friendly and well equipped, and the kids loved wandering the farm and feeding animals. We hope to book this every time we have to drive Melbourne to Sydney!

A gorgeous town with great choices of restaurants and hotels. We had a great sunset meal on the balcony at the Criterion Hotel - and the staff made us feel welcome and cared for. We stayed in a lovely chalet surrounded by birds and nature at the Gundagai cabins and tourist park. Our stroll through town was delightful - clean with interesting shops and friendly locals!

A lovely little town and great place to stop overnight on a road trip as we did. Great cafes in the Main Street with great coffee at the likes of the Coffee Peddler Cafe. It has a Services Club at the end of the Main Street with a fantastic Chinese restaurant within. A drive up to the lookout is also worth doing with beautiful scenery and old railway bridges worth taking in. Oh and the dog on the tucker box is a must.

beware of the old dude at the local pen museum, we went in for a walk through and when we went to leave he told us that was $5.00, not a big ask but i likely would not have entered first without knowing, not a big deal though

New property and clean.
New property and clean. What I didn't like is that at no time was it mentioned that this was a tiny home with separate bathroom outside the property. It was only described as a suite with private bathroom. Of course the fee was not refundable by the time I arrived and realised what I was in for. I also did not like being expected to wash and put away the crockery and cutlery. It does not fill me with confidence that the previous tenant bothered to wash the items properly with any effort. I was also disappointed that the hairdryer was missing despite being advertised as having one. I only found this out when I had already showered.

The town is very interesting with its architecture and history. Also very clean which shows the towns people are very proud of their town. Will definitely stay again. Much nicer stop off than at The Dog on the Tuckerbox on the highway. Niagara Cafe worth a stop for a meal. But do go and see The Dog.

Gundagai is a good stop for us on the way back from Melbourne. We had a good Chinese dinner at the Services Club (not many other options) and a great breakfast at the Niagara Cafe. It's an interesting and historic town, worth a walk along the main street, with some great gift type shops. The short drive up to the lookout was rewarded by great views of the surrounding area.

The tourist suites in Gundagai were 3C. That is Clean, Comfortable and Cheap. Spotlessly clean, extremely comfortable and half the price of even a modest hotel. We wouldn’t dream of staying anywhere else en route to Melbourne from Sydney. It’s the little things that count, too. Fresh milk in a large fridge, crisp clean sheets, power sockets next to the bed head, coffee maker supplied, bathroom heater. And did I say that everything was spotless?
We chose the Criterion as we weren’t able to book a motel at short notice in Gundagai. many years since we stayed in a “pub” with bathroom down the hall but we were pleasantly surprised by our room and facilities. chose to eat in- house for dinner and it was good. a hook or rail near basin in bathroom would be useful for damp towels. thanks for a quiet comfortable stay.
The complex was quiet and very close to town as in a few minutes walk. There was a major supermarket literally next door. I appreciated the outdoor furniture to just sit and relax after a long drive, Gundagai is a nice town.
Situated in the historical town of Gundagai it was interesting exploring the town. It was close to the RSL club which had a very good Chinese Restaurant. The room was small but very clean.
