Located in the heart of Gundagai, all guest rooms at Gundagai Motel feature a flat-screen TV and outdoor furniture. Guests can share a meal using the BBQ facilities or enjoy breakfast in the room. The room, cleanliness, location, the friendly staff. I am so glad I chose Gundagai Motel for a quick stop on way to Melbourne. At first I was a bit hesitant to book a motel, but after going through wonderful reviews I decided to book. The check-in was so easy and quick. The rooms were sparkling clean. Milk provided in the fridge was an added advantage. The day we arrived the weather was burning hot and to find cold water in fridge shows how thoughtful the staff is. I requested for extra cutlery, bowls and toaster to make my breakfast and it was provided with a beautiful smile. I would definitely recommend this motel to anyone looking to take a break on a long drive.
Located in Gundagai, Poet's Recall Motel features a seasonal outdoor swimming pool. This 4-star motel features free WiFi and a terrace. The rooms are equipped with a balcony with garden views. Very nice place. Good location! We will come back next time.
Offering free WiFi and limited free undercover parking, Gundagai Gabriel Motor Inn is just a 5-minute walk from Gundagai Museum and local shops and restaurants. Excellent location in visiting the town of Gundagai. Wonderful rooms, very comfortable and very lovely staff.
Nimbo Fork Lodge is located near Brungle, 14 mi from Tumut and 11 mi from Gundagai. Free private parking is available on site. The nonsmoking rooms are equipped with a seating area. If you need to getaway from the hustle & bustle of life then this gorgeous lodge is for you. Small boutique accomodation set in a gorgeous valley overlooking the Tumut river & Nimbo creek. The room was large & beautifully appointed. The cabins looked awesome & I can see why they are booked out far in advance. The dining room was the unexpected bonus. I was not sure about how the dining would be & was worried that we would have to drive into town for meals.. but let me say the chef @ Nimbo knows her stuff... breakfast was great & dinner service was city restaurant quality. The staff were all lovely but not mentioning the amazing Pete would be doing him disservice, he is an amazing host, and could be working in any 5 star resort... they are lucky to have him tucked away in this little gem. Honestly, if your not sure about booking let me tel you to just do it... you won’t be disappointed...
Gundagai is a charming little Australian town. The Niagara tea rooms has just reopened with its art deco restored and we had a great breakfast there. We got some good photos of the wooden railway bridge across the valley. Everyone has heard of the dog on the tuckerbox but going into town is a real Aussie experience.
Lovely and historic country town. Places to eat on a Sunday night limited. The Criterion Hotel only served pizza, the Family Hotel while appearing to be open didn't have any cars parked at the front suggesting it didn't have a lot of customers and the only other place which appeared to be open was the Services Club which was quite busy but not overly busy yet we had to wait 1 hour for our meal to come. The Coffee Pedlar (cafe) is great for breakfast and lunch with a good selection of food (not open at night).
Gundagai is the ideal location if driving from Melbourne to Sydney - just short of half way. This motel is straight off the freeway exit, but there is little or no freeway noise. Next door is the Combined Services club for good and varied eating. Two good pubs also within walking distance. We went to the Commercial Hotel for a very good one-course dinner. Booking.com should check with the venue's receipt of booking details. The receptionist's record appeared obtainable only from the booking confirmation number.
Arrived at 2045 in the evening. No eateries other than pubs open in town so headed 9km back out to the truckstop at the "Dog on the Tuckerbox" got there at 2055 Subway and KFC were out of food and not prepared to cook any. What ever happened to franchises having the same hours, anywhere else in the world these and other fast food outlets would be open till 11.00 or later on a friday/sat night(same thing happened the next night as well). Cellular reception was extremely poor, the tourist centre was worthwhile, female staff member very obliging and friendly, as were the staff at the Criterion pub, bet everything else left me for dead. Stayed at the Garden motels, advertised with its own restaurant for breakfast and Dinner...even room service. Restaurant was closed all weekend but they still kept the neon on saying its open and on their Web pages. A disappointing stay
Gundagai is a historic town with many older buildings retained and in use by various enterprises. There are a number of good cafe's providing breakfast and hotels providing dinner options. Being roughly half way between Syndey and Melbourne it is a good stop off point with a number of other historic places close by. Make sure you book ahead as the location is very popular.
Fantastic meal and atmosphere on the deck of the Criterion Hotel. Tuckerbox Motor Inn accomodation - great rates, friendly staff and excellent facilities Old Gundagai Gaol is a must see, especially at night. Very pretty trees in the main street that light up at night. Not enough decent cafes for breakfast. One was to crowded, another smelt like burnt oil and a complete turn off first thing in the morning. Another was closed down. We wanted to spend our money in Gundagai, but ended up driving to Jugiong for breakfast.
Location in south Gundagai is a short drive from the main town centre. Old, retro motel with comfortable room, The room had everything needed for a short stay including fridge, microwave, and good TV. Pleased that the windows opened wide to get the fresh air. Wish there had been time to swim in the above ground pool!
I was surprised at the overall look and feel of this motel. As it was cheap I was not expecting much, however you could tell the owners really put the effort in, both inside and outside.. so clean and updated inside and outside was also well loved and cared for.. Highly recommend if you are in Gundagai.
Clean, bigger than most hotel or motel rooms, budget friendly. Dinner and breakfast menu options.
Great location, room was nice and clean. It was in close proximity to hotels and resturarants.
Modern and clean, comfortable bed. Walking distance to nice pub.
Cabins were clean. Gundagai is stunning. The town is beautiful.
The reception, the convenience of Gundagai on out trip.
The Motel was quiet and close to the CBD of GundagaI
Clean, modern, spacious, hotel like feel :)
