Locals were not very warm to tourists.
Locals were not very warm to tourists. I was ordering dinner at one of the pubs and they chuckled when I didn’t know what sides were offered and because they were too busy belittling me they forgot to put my partners order through so he didn’t have anything but the entree. There was barely any friendly banter between us and them, we were polite and my partner loves a chat but mostly got uninterested stares and most conversations were cut short. Most of the advertising was misleading, everywhere (incl Google) said the go see the lagoon, we get there and it’s all dried up, see a notice for Saturday markets, go where it says it will be and they are closed etc.

Guyra was my home for many years, so lots of catching up to...
Guyra was my home for many years, so lots of catching up to do. For visitors, it is beautiful country, warm locals, great golf course and lagoon. Def worth driving to surrounding districts for a look and staying centrally in Guyra.

We booked. We arrived.
We booked. We arrived. The rude man at reception would not accept our booking.com booking because he had some cash paying tomato farmers! We were left stranded. This place should not be on Booking.com!

THE LODGE IS ONLY 100M FROM ALL SHOPS & EATERIES.
THE LEVEL OF COMFORT & AMENITIES PROVIDED EXCEEDED ALL EXPECTATIONS.
CLEANLINESS WAS SUPERB.
MARGOT IS A WONDERFUL HOST & HAS PROVIDED EVERY CONCEIVABLE AMENITIES YOU COULD POSSIBLY REQUIRE.

This is a great little country town.
This is a great little country town. I can highly recommend the Royal Hotel. Fresh from refurbishment it’s a great place to relax eat great pub food. Jo Jo’s cafe great with exceptional coffee and breakfast. The fortune Chinese food was sensational. In each of these venues we were a large group and they handled large orders with charm and excellent service.
