The location is great, not too far from the main street. The mountain view with the field filled with kangaroos, emus and few parrots is the best. Did not see any kookaburras but i guess that means that i will have to come back there. Very much recommended for the cozy stay in Halls Gap!

Loved all the walks. Found restaurants with vegan options for our son: PaperScissorsRock and a very to welcoming Indian one. It's very touristy but easy to get away from the crowds. Quiet in the night. The lady in the information centre was rather judgemental as we are quite capable of walking up the medium difficulty paths. Lovely to see emus in the wild for the first time.
Easy access to walking tracks of various difficulty. We saw wildlife such as Emus, Kangaroos, Kookaburras etc. Great views all around Halls Gap. We had a great day at Halls Gap Zoo at nearby Pomonal. A very enjoyable holiday.
Halls Gap is an absolutely fabulous holiday location. Scenery, waterfalls and bush walks. The Zoo is wonderful. Lake Bellfield was stunning. Dining options are excellent: the Bakery is delicious with the happiest staff!!, the Kookaburra Hotel and the Galls Gap Hotel had great meals and the Spirit of Punjab indian restaurant was 10/10! Local grocery, fuel, gift shops and icecream that had long lines at all hours of each day. It’s a couple getaway as well as a family haven. As they say, do yourself a favour!
Halls Gap is a great base for exploring the Grampians. If you dont have public transport, you can easily begin walks from Halls Gap. However, I would recommend having a car so you can access areas further afield such as McKenzie Falls. Halls Gap itself is a buzzing place with both amenities for a stay or camping supplies for going further afield.
This is one of our favorite spots to go. We went to one hotel for tea our first night, the food was overpriced and I didn't enjoy mine as the chips were only half cooked although the steak was cooked perfectly. The second night went to a different hotel, with friendly staff, food was delicious. It was good to see different cultures exploring our Halls Gap, very family friendly.
The staff were helpful and friendly. Our room was quite large, and although probably getting a little dated it was still comfortable and had all the amenities one required. We had dinner one night in the restaurant and thoroughly enjoyed our meay, costs were reasonable and the service was good. thanks guys.
We loved the location - a short walk on a path to town. The setting for the cabins/ studios was very serene- no car noise just birds and our outlook was very serene. There was a small pond near the verandah where we sat and relaxed. Kangaroos and many different birds came to drink and we felt we were treated to a free wildlife parade ! Ngaire was the perfect host , giving us suggestions for places to visit and walks suitable for us . We enjoyed getting to know Ngaire and Paul and loved Halls Gap and our stay ar D’Altons Studios. Thankyou
The location was perfect a nice 20 minutes stroll into Halls Gap. The log cabin was so comfortable clean and bed super comfy. It had a well equipped kitchen, and an added bonus of heating in the spa bathroom.Adequate supplies of towels and bathroom accessories also supplied. The surrounds of the cabins are kept immaculate. We didn’t need to light the wooden fire, but wood, fire lighters all supplied if needed. There is of course reverse cycle heating and coolant.
Extremely clean, comfortable and a great location for exploring Halls Gap. A well designed holiday house with all you need for a comfortable stay. Well equipped kitchen, lovely fireplace and outdoor fire pit along with a great view out to the Mount William range. An easy walk into town.
It’s a budget hotel, if you want luxury don’t stay here, rooms were very clean, outside yard needs lots of work. Staff very friendly and helpful. Meal in Tavern downstairs was fine, nothing flash. Looks like they are gradually fixing up. It’s got lot of potential.
As I’ve been to Halls Gap and always stay at the Halls Gap Caravan Park should speak volumes. The staff are very friendly and accommodating and the park has great amenities and is centrally located making it the perfect place to stay.
The cottage was even bigger than it looked in the photos, and in a great spot 10 mins from Halls Gap. Kangaroos in the back yard all day which was just lovely! A lovely home, well stocked and very comfortable.
We stay here every time. Best place for kids and not far from the center of town. Also only a very short distance from the halls gap hotel restaurant which is amazing too.
The location was out of town and very peaceful. Lot's of wildlife an fabulous walks. On cold nights there is an open fire in the lounge room.
We were attending a function at The Halls Gap Hotel do it was about a 300 metre walk, which was great for one of our oarty who has a disability.
