Halls Gap Motel is surrounded by the magnificent Grampians Mountains and is located on the fringe of the valley floor. As we arrived, there were kangaroos happily munching the grass on the lawn. And the next morning we sat outside having our breakfast with the kangaroos. The view of the valley is beautiful. Our room was clean and comfortable. There is a lovely fireplace that the young lady from reception lit in the evening..

Located in the heart of the Grampians National Park, Gariwerd Motel is just 2297 feet from the center of Halls Gap. The environmentally focused motel is home to kangaroos, kookaburras and emus. There are some lounge chairs and tables on the grounds, so you can relax with a glass of wine after a day of hiking. The location is excellent and the rooms are clean.

Nestled in the valley of Halls Gap, these log cabins are located within the Grampians National Park and have spectacular views to the Wonderland and Boronia Ranges. Great location, great hosts, very roomy and comfortable both inside and out. We had a wildlife of Australia just outside our doors with kangaroos, emus, deer and many varieties of beautiful birds in the field adjacent to our cabin.
Accommodation was clean and comfortable. Kangaroos at our doorstep and we could see them through our bedroom window. we had a wood fire place that kept us toasty and warm, with all wood supplied at no charge.
Halls Gap is a great place to visit if you like doing a lot of walking or hiking. Best time to go would be spring as the weather would be just right for the long walks you can do. Not a lot of shops or restaurants to chose from. If your not into walking track probably a couple of nights will do. There is also a zoo there too.
The location of Halls Gap was close to many of the trails, waterfalls, and lookouts. From the main Grampians Road, you can walk to Venus Baths, Stoney Creek, Brambuk National park and walk the Fyans Creek trail. By far, my favourite place to visit was the Pinnacle and MacKenzies Falls. There are plenty of Australian wildlife at your doorstep too, literally.
One of the most spectacular parts of Victoria with its towering mountains, great walks, wildlife and lovely little township. Great Indian restaurant just a few minutes drive out of town or 10 minutes if you walked. Great atmosphere with everyone friendly and seemingly having a great time as we did.
D'Altons were excellent stand alone units close to central hub of Stoney Creek (5-10 minute walk) . Helicopter based in Stawell well worth the cost - excellent and knowledgeable operator. Everything well sign posted. We have been quite a few times and it just gets better!
Halls Gap offers so many beautiful sights and attractions. There are so many different activities available, including hidden gems you may not realise are there. I recommend going to the information centre and asking about walks, hikes, etc. There are also a lot of brochures available for you to take. Three main things I highly recommend, the Adventure Golf, Halls Gap Zoo and McKenzie falls
We loved the location - a short walk on a path to town. The setting for the cabins/ studios was very serene- no car noise just birds and our outlook was very serene. There was a small pond near the verandah where we sat and relaxed. Kangaroos and many different birds came to drink and we felt we were treated to a free wildlife parade ! Ngaire was the perfect host , giving us suggestions for places to visit and walks suitable for us . We enjoyed getting to know Ngaire and Paul and loved Halls Gap and our stay ar D’Altons Studios. Thankyou
what did we like? everything! the cabins are amazing. we could have stayed there so much longer than the 2 nights we had. the overall design, fireplace, furniture, beds, outdoor spa bath, dvds, kitchen set up, views...you name it....it's perfect. Our host was generous with an upgrade too. this place is a winner. easy keyless entry...so close to halls gap and spectacular walks. we loved hiking knowing we were coming back in the afternoon to our spectacular lodge. we ended up cooking and staying in because the room was so nice!!

A wonderful stay at a charming house with all the facilities for a short or longer getaway. Our host, Tim, was friendly, helpful and generous. He recommended great places to eat and visit. It's in the heart of Halls Gap and is close to shops, restaurants and walks. Wildlife come right up to the verandah.
