This is a unique property with lots of history. The rooms are large and spacious. Beds are comfortable as is the lounge area. Great bbq in the garden and only 20 minutes drive away from South West Rocks. Smithtown is a friendly quiet town and we had a great stay here. Upon arrival the owners had left us bread cooking in their bread maker, fruit, chocolate, milk, orange juice, bottled waters, butter, muffins, milk cereal, cookies etc which was a really nice surprise.

The owners of the farm were absolutely incredible! Me and Elia had a life changing trip here on the way to the Gold Coast! We arrived at the property and they rescue animals from the outback! We were luckily enough to meet a baby Joey that had been orphaned! This is not guaranteed however! Frank the turkey is super cool too! In my opinion you can’t put a price on an experience like that!

Beautiful quiet little town. Not far from anything.

Beautiful quiet little town. Not far from anything. Club has great food and very friendly. Both convience stores carry just about everything, they are a little bit more expensive but that is normal for stores like this. Coffee van out front of general store had great coffee and food but can be very popular so expect to have a wait if ordering.evrrything is in walking distance- beach, club, shops. Nice park behind the club for little ones. Caravan park very central.

I am originally from the Macleay valley and have been to Hat...

I am originally from the Macleay valley and have been to Hat Head many times over 70 years. It is one of the unspoiled gems on the coast. Due to being surrounded by National Parks, it has not been able to grow by very much and as a result has maintained its unspoiled character. It's a very good place to stay for a relaxing time. It is free of all of the hustle and bustle of areas that have become typical tourist destinations. Out of South West Rocks, Crescent Head and Hat Head, Hat Head is my preferred destination. On my last visit (31 Aug - 1 Sept 24) , from the headland, I could see a pod of dolphins was having a surf in the little bay below the headland and about a dozen whales could be seen travelling north. One of the whales (about a kilometre off shore) breached, puting up a large spray of water. Unless you want to go out of Hat Head to look at other areas or go to a larger supermarket (Woolies or Coles), you can walk to wherever you want to go in the village.
