For hotels in Hobart that serve highly-rated breakfasts, try Maylands Lodge, Islington Hotel, and Customs House Hotel.
These hotels in Hobart are highly rated by couples: Grande Vue, Maylands Lodge, and MACq 01 Hotel.
Grande Vue, The Tasman, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Hobart, and Maylands Lodge got great room view-related reviews from travelers in Hobart.
I like walking around at. Salamanca Market although short time coz when we arrived the market almost closed. Port Arthur full of historical..nice view .The special trip at Brunny Island very beautiful island. Very good weather. Love it.
There's so much to see and do in Hobart. Being a small city everything is very close. It's a long way south so weather can be quite variable (I had rain, high winds, sleet and sunshine with the temps ranging between 3 and 14 degrees (excluding wind chill). So rug-up in winter. If you are an outdoors person I highly recommend exploring the plethora of walks within a few hours drive of Hobart (Mt Field National Park is a must do). Also suggest you hike to the top of Mt Wellington from The Springs (4 hr return). Much more pleasant than driving. Imaginative cafes and restaurants abound though careful of the few tourist traps around the docks/Salamanca area.
you need to drive out of hobart go to cygnet and go to the sunday markets tasmania is full of talented crafts people, mt wellington is an earlly drive up you dont want to get 1/2 way and find the gates closed. margate is interesting and the shot tower tea house is a must with the royal albert high tea setting and ddelicious scones compared to sydney Hobart is a cosmopolitan city at a slower pace thank god
Such a beautiful harbour city with incredible historic architecture. The hop-on hop-off bus tour was a great way to see more of the city and a trip to MONA is a must do (there really is something for everyone)! Most places are within walking distance which is handy if you don't have a car. Harbour Lights Cafe and Tricycle Cafe were great stops for breakfast. Post Street Social does great sharing plates for lunch/dinner. Telegraph Hotel and Irish Murphy are great spots for a drink, and Hadley Oriental is a must do for a drink, dinner and a bit of interesting history!
Hobart has so much to offer, see and do. I've been there twice and there is still so much that I haven't yet seen. The restaurants offer the freshest local food and you can sample so much of it at the Salamanca market. There are hidden gems tucked away, so be sure to have a chat with the locals. I highly recommend Pennicotts tours, local, full of knowledge and care for Tasmania, its history and environment.
Plan on arriving early, hiring a car heading out to Richmond. Loads to see there - go and check in to your property, head on down to the Cannery Restaurant on the way to Port Arthur - book the ghost tour its great. Skip the Tassie Devil park $47 per person and only saw 3 devils as they can come and go as they like, no fences around the park.... Head straight to Port Arthur so you don't miss the boat to go over to Isle of the Dead. Rug up it can get cold. Thereis also a restaurant and cafe at Port Arthur, go for the Restaurant after the tour, but make sure you book. Next day get up early and head to Bruny Island, have breakfast in the cafe at the wharf - it's lovely. Car goes over on Ferry to Bruny Island. Make sure you book the Bruny Island Boat tour if you want to see dolphins and seals. You can spend a day on this island it is so beautiful, lovely old cemetry if you are in to that and a small but amazing little museum.... or you can head back and travel back to Hobart along the coast and have a beer at the Salty Dog at Kingston Beach. Don't think you will get on the first ferry back, it only takes about 21 cars, less if there is a bus so peak time make sure you leave time ..... Definately need to get to the Salamanca Markets only on Saturday mornings... but will only need a couple of hours then a must is Mona Museum, even locals have to book on line so don't miss this. Food, beverage & Music outdoors. If you want you can head 2 hours up the road to Launceston - or go along the east coast - loads to do in Tassie - great place to visit. We like more action, food wineries and music and every town someone is up for a chat - we are not big into open spaces or countryside but Tassie is famous for it so you can't go wrong. Great place to visit - if you like the slow life and to take your time, go for 10 days, but can satisfy as a great break at 4 - 5 days.
Hadley’s orient hotel located in the best area of Hobart. The hotel itself is a historical building. I love all the details in and out-side the hotel. I am highly rated the receptionists( both check in and out), she provided my family a late check out so that we can stay a little long after a long day driving. I’m highly recommend for anyone who is looking for a best location with historical background living plus great service, Hadley’s orient hotel is your choice!
Modern, unpretentious, and fuss-free hotel. Great location (just a short walk to the main city areas). Comfortable-sized room with a great view of the mountain. Reception staff were super helpful and friendly. Cleaning staff were very careful and we came back to a clean and tidy room each day. Just a really easy and comfortable stay. No complaints; if I come back to visit Hobart, this will be the first hotel I look into again. :)
Beautiful old hotel. Lovely features. You are able to explore the older hotel building, and there is a viewing platform at the top of the hotel for amazing views across Hobart. Our room was in the newer addition, which is joined to the older building with a walkway. The room was very spacious with a dining area, and lounge area. Great location to Salamanca and easy walking distance to the harbour and CBD. Free parking.
Our premium waterfront suite was absolutely incredible at MACq 01. Everything from the large beautifully designed bathroom to the amazing terrace and harbour views. Highly recommend this suite and hotel for anyone wanting a luxury stay in the heart of Hobart! Staff were very attentive and also made our arrival very pleasant with a bittle of Tasmanian sparkling wine on arrival.
Very funky apartment for a family (of 4). Kids loved the loft bedroom. Excellent that it had a laundry (didn't need to use) and could be self catering (but why would you bother in Hobart). Excellent location as it was walking distance to the wharf and Salamanca as well as being an easy drive from the Airport.
The King Room was spacious extremely clean and well appointed. The hotel is situated on the outskirts of the CBD (an easy 30 -40m stroll) to the harbour front and just around the corner from the numerous cafes, restaurants and bars of North Hobart.Free parking is available onsite.
A quirky hotel right in the CBD of Hobart. Just the sort of stay we were looking for. Excellent and friendly staff. A lounge, bar and outdoor terrace that has a funky vibe that is great for a couple of drinks before exploring what Hobart has to offer.
Hobart
The location with a balcony looking out over the harbour is the best bit. We had a premium apartment and both bedrooms were on the mezzanine level. More space than a hotel room but the apartments could do with updating. It was good value for money
The layout of their family suite was great for two parents and two kids. Each sleeping space has its own door, balcony, and television. Good water pressure in the shower too. It was an easy walk for us to several locations of interest in Hobart
The location, room, hotel staff and general facilities were perfect. Also the artwork displayed were nice. There are very good restaurants nearby and Hobart's waterfront was gorgeous. We had a perfect stay. All our needs were perfectly met.
Our stay at the Battery Point Manor was one of the best in Hobart! We were surprised by the size of the room, it was so spacious and the hotel is so close to Hobart city. We would definitely book here again if we return to Hobart in the future.
Hotel on waterfront in central Hobart. Only stayed one night. No problem with late arrival/checkin & able to order food before kitchen closed. Busy hotel. Food good. Room good with comfy bed & enormous bathroom.
Hobart
Our family loved our accomodations! The hosts were lovely & treated us like family; they went above and beyond to stock and make the apartment comfortable. The views were absolutely stunning! Highly recommend!
The RACV is one of my favourite hotels in Hobart CBD as it feels like a home away from home. It’s very clean and has a real homely feeling and the rooms are generous in size and immaculately clean.
