Not only was the hotel charming but the staff were exceptional in providing us with all the care we could need. We ate from room service and the meals were delicious, fresh and hot. I don't have the words to say how wonderful the staff was throughout our visit. Really caring people under incredible stress. Location was in the centre of downtown and easy walk to waterfront. My favorite is the nature around the area, such as Mount Wellington and Bruny Island :) It was a pity I didn't have enough time to visit more places. I joined the tours, which were pretty good as a foreigner (not familiar with the driving system there). I also love the Salamanca Area! It's so pretty and vibrant! Any corner of those buildings is art! Unfortunately I didn't discover much cuisine there -- mostly tried the Asian restaurants for dinner because it's rare :))) The bus system is very good, but you can only top on at few locations (some even not open on weekends); however, you can still pay with cash when boarding. That's not too inconvenient :) I will surely plan more ahead next time, such as checking the schedule of different tours and book in advance.
Hobart is a great place to visit with lots to see and do. The Salamanka markets that are on each Saturday are fantastic and Port Arthur has so much history. The pizza place 'Room For a Pony' has delicious pizzas and the New Sydney hotel is a great place for a drink. Banjo's bakery is amazing. Great pastries plus yummy sandwiches. These bakeries are found throughout Tassie. Hobart is easy to get around but lots of hills and one way streets (remember this if you are driving).
No car required for Hobart itself. It was easy to access by walking. Plenty of places to eat, drink and be happy. A lot of options for tours whether by bus or ferry around hobart as well. Check out Evolve bar, it was a fav of an evening for a great cocktail and snack if you wanted. Prices were reasonable. Of course Salamanca market is always a good place on a Saturday. Plenty of food, drink and the odd trinket.
There is so much to do just outside of Hobart and it is a good central location to all of these activities. You definitely need a car to get around to these places unless you plan on forking out the money to do tours the whole time. Make sure you leave your half day activities for the first and last day of the trip so you can make your flights. Alternatively you can fit a tour in on the last day as some of the tour companies offer pickup/drop off at the airport if you book your flights accordingly.
Hobart is a beautiful place. Good for families. Has plenty of activities and markets. And places to visit surrounding hobart. We used an UbER to get around which was very efficient. But easy enough to drive as well.
The city centre is a typical CBD. The Elizabeth Pier area is relaxing and a great place for dining. Salamanca is well worth a visit on Saturdays. Mt Wellington and Mt Nelson are worth the visit. Give Mona a miss; over-priced and immoral. Hobart is a good base to visit places like the Mt Field National Park, Richmond and Port Arthur.
The location was fantastic for a short stay in Hobart with no car. From reception, and then throughout the hotel, the staff were friendly and readily available to assist. Our room was spacious, with a medium-firm comfortable bed and very clean facilities. We very much enjoyed the pianist playing on the Friday night, great playlist perfect for relaxing with a drink, but not loud enough to stop conversation over dinner. Would, and have, recommended to friends looking for a hotel with a little more character along the lines of a boutique venue.
First time staying in the city, I live in Richmond, Tasmania, and don't drive at night. Why wouldn't people stay with you, in the heart of Hobart, so convenient to everything just a fabulous spot. i spent the evening with a group of friends at your hotel for a 60th birthday. by the way, my scotch fillet was awful. The $70 Have many Sydney friends and will be tellingbottle of shiraz was fabulous, staff were great and I had a w0nderful time. If ever I want to indulge(?) myself again, I will certainly come back.
The room was spacious and modern. Bathroom was bigger than expected, modern and spotless. Amazing value for money. Located on Collins St right in the middle of the CBD so easy walking distance to shops, restaurants, the waterfront etc. I had some international meetings to attend via Zoom and the wifi was more than adequate. Located above a pub so a little bit of noise from the smokers' area, but the hotel closes at 9pm during the week so very quiet after that.
This hotel is perfectly located for easy access to the abundance of restaurants around the Hobart waterfront and Salamanca area. It was very clean and quiet and the artwork throughout the hotel was an added bonus. The staff were welcoming and friendly and provided excellent service. The only negative to our stay was breakfast. We were seated by staff however it took near 25 minutes for them to take our order, however when the food came is was delicious.
Hobart
Location - literally down the road from Salamanca Place & about a 10-15 min walk from the city centre. The amenities - the luxury of having a washer/dryer , the water pressure from the shower and the comfortable bed. Having the option to cook if you wanted to. So cosy and comfortable - really well appointed! Would 100% stay here again when in Hobart , and highly recommend it to family and friends. Thank you for an excellent stay!
Great location in CBD; close to many restaurants and shops. Short walk to the harbour. Ideal for business persons or mature people requiring short term stays. Not a family hotel. Apartment was clean and neat but design overall not well planned. Limited storage for clothes; no suitcase rack. Quality bathroom, good towels. Great bed and pillows. Large TV, 55 inch. Free parking for members.
The hotel is in an exceptional location. The rooms are very nice and the included breakfast is excellent. The bar attached to the hotel is a great place for a few drinks. The hotel is close to the Salamanca area, across the road from the waterfront and just very handy to all that Hobart has to offer. This is my second stay but definately not my last. Just love it here
Hobart
Still in Tasmania after staying at Motel 429 for 2 nights. The accommodation was excellent, close to the centre of Hobart, the water and Sandy Bay shops. The room and facilities were excellent. We just wanted to get take away and come back to our room and relax which we could as they had seating and a small kitchen.
Simple, clean room. Enough room for our small family to use as a base for a Hobart holiday. Walking distance to shops and playgrounds a bonus and off street parking included was most welcome.
Location, location, location. Modern hotel with trendy appointments and atmosphere. Extremely well positioned right in the CBD area and close to everything downtown Hobart has to offer.
Hobart
Great location and reasonably priced self contained apartments which can sleep a lot of people. I have stayed at Graham's apartments four times now when visiting Hobart.
Great location in the heart of Hobart and the room had beautiful views of the waterfront. The room was upgraded to a room that also had a view of the mountain and a spa.
Great self contained apartment, tidy and well equipped, everything we needed. Adequate, small gym facility and well located for getting around the city.
Hobart
Staff where down to earth and friendly, the apartment was extremely spacious with lots of big windows, in a prime location in Hobart cbd 10/10
Hobart
Staff were welcoming and helpful. Hotel was 20 minute walk from Hobart CBD. General store nearby.
By far the best hotel in Hobart. Everything about this hotel was 5 star
The guys in reception were very accommodating, I had a job interview and had nowhere to go to get ready. The reception staff allowed me to check in early which was lovely.
