The Broken Banyan is located in Lord Howe, a 10-minute walk from Neds Beach and 0.7 miles from Lagoon Beach, in an area where hiking can be enjoyed. Barbara was a fantastic host. She was very accommodating and had many tips on what we could do on the island. She picked us up on arrival and we already felt welcomed.
Somerset Apartments offers a range of accommodations on Lord Howe Island, located between Neds Beach and the Lagoon, allowing easy walking and cycling to nearby shops, restaurants and the Visitor... Handy location, good self catering facilities, it was within our budget. It was very well set out accommodation in a great setting. Having good free Wi-Fi was fabulous to be able to stay InTouch with our family. Would highly recommend this accommodation with guests that are not on a large budget, would defiantly stay again!
Offering free WiFi, 2 outdoor gazebos and private access to Ned's Beach, Lorhiti Apartments are located on Lord Howe Island. John and his partner were wonderful, met us punctually at the airport, helped us with our bags (as I have a broken collar bone), and gave us all the knowledge we needed to enjoy our trip. Couldn't speak higher of Lorhiti or our hosts.
With a restaurant and free airport transfers, Beachcomber Lodge offers everything you need for a relaxing getaway. Set on 5 beautiful acres, it is a short stroll from Ned’s Beach and Middle Beach. Beautiful island atmosphere. Laid back accommodation that was easily accessible. Great service in driving you places
Island paradise. Lorhiti is fabulous accommodation. Home away from home. Plenty to see and do. Locals are very friendly. Great eating options available. Anchorage Reataurant provided a great range on menu and all meals were excellent and well priced. Complimentary transport provided from Lorhiti to restaurants. Restaurants provided return transport. Hire car available, push-bike common or walk. Great bush walking tracks with a range of skill levels. A must see is Balls Pyramid.
Snorkelling is my favourite thing to do. Loved the coral reefs here. The petrels were a special experience Loved the scenery Accommodation was comfortable and food excellent Thanks for a great holiday xo
Keen walkers and hikers would love this island. Small Mts to climb as well as bush walks through the verdant rainforests. Short distance across island. Bring your main supplies as limited expensive food supplies. Many restaurants still closed. Weather can cause flights to be cancelled. We are not so mobile now and I feel we have left it too late to fully enjoy island. Should have come 10 years ago. Bicycles or walking best ways to get around. Mainly work vehicles on island. Don’t think we’d come again as mobility issues will continue.
Stunningly beautiful and, uniquely, uncrowded. Because of the limitations on visitors (400 maximum at any one time), the most beautiful places never had more than a handful of people, sometimes no one at all. It is so surprising that such an island is part of New South Wales. It feels like a different world. You cannot be disappointed by this island. The only caveat is book your restaurants in advance, especially for the bowling club (which has the best meals on the island!). Like the number of visitors, facilities are limited. They are also expensive. But well worth it. I stayed 3 nights, but I wish I had booked 5.
Certainly a place for adventure. It has everything that we enjoy snorkelling, diving, kayaking, sea trips, hiking and mountain climbing. you need to go with the flow in respect of the weather and just adjust.
A week on Lord Howe was a great experience. What a beautiful, clean, uncrowded place. Great coral viewing; so many birds; wonderful walks. We only had time to explore the north of the island so may head back at a later date.
