This is a gracious old building and nicely renovated, so it feels comfortable and plush. We have stayed here several times as it is near family and while we didn't have breakfast this time, breakfast provides good cooked options and is in a large room with lovely views over the fields below.

We booked a night here on our roadtrip up north travelling with our 2yo. From the warm hospitality, the complimentary welcome drink, and great atmosphere we knew we landed in the right place. The hotel has Incredible old world charm tastefully decorated and was exceptional value for money. Definitely not a bland, modern hotel thankfully, an increasingly rare find these days. Highly recommend for anyone who appreciates an historic space beautifully remodelled that's run by a fantastic couple. The excellent restaurant, live jazz, kitchenette with free coffee, milk (Inc non dairy) treats , cereal etc was fantastic.
At Old Maitland Inn, guests enjoy high speed wi-fi & an outdoor pool, which is open between 9am & 8pm (conditions apply). Off-street parking is available.

The hotel accommodated a request for an early check in (even though we were late and didn't end up needing it) and they text to tell you your room is ready, which is excellent. The room was clean and large and had everything we needed for a one night stay. Instructions were good and there were even little biscuit packets which was great when getting in really late and just wanting a little snack.

The accommodation was great, it is an old, renovated house, beautiful features and furniture, great big rooms, breakfast was great with a lot of variety (fruit, juices, coffee, toast, croissants) and Alison (the owner) was super friendly and efficient.

Maitland has great architecture from times gone by but many have been or are being refurbished. It is on the Hunter River, so there's easy access to the river from a number of locations. The Maitland Regional Art Gallery never disappoints and I always visit there if I'm there during opening times. Maitland offers a great glimpse into regional Australia. The Family Hotel is a funky pub which offers a great bistro menu and craft beers.

Beautiful suburb with everything you need is in there.
Beautiful suburb with everything you need is in there. Lots of restaurants, petrol station almost in every block. Unfortunately, we feel that the locals are not so friendly with visitors/foreigners come to visit or to explore. They look at us like weird or strange.

Maitland itself has some historic buildings and so has Morpeth but by 3pm Saturday afternoon only the pubs and supermarkets were open. The river area behind the Levee area was a big letdown, just a couple of people with their dog. You have to look down to the river which is not much to look at anyway.

we had dinner at Club Maitland. They have meat raffles on a Sunday night. Large portion meals, would recommend. We were only there for one night on personal business so didn't do any touristy things.

Maitland is very quiet.
Maitland is very quiet. A pub we went to - alas we have to wait an hour for our meal (party of 5). Cessnock and Pokolbin are much nicer and a little bit bigger and closer to all the wineries. But for convenience to certain areas, I would not complain. Check out Hunter Valley Gardens, Harrigan Pub, the Smelly Cheese shop and also a chocolate shop in the area

The Family Hotel Maitland it was good the price was quite a very reasonable and affordable only problem is that the room the little bit tight not enough space to move around the bathrooms are okay they're bad is fine however the taps with very low very hard to wash your hands air conditioning will it be nice but the fan in the ceiling wasn't too bad but if on a really warm night much preferred the air conditioner
The room was spacious and amenities were fair (although some of the gym equipment was broken). Although out of main Maitland, it didn't take long to drive in with ample parking in town. Check in and out was easy enough and service was helpful when needed.
Good location close to Maitland Club, takeaway and shopping centre
The room was clean and bed was comfortable
Shower good pressure and hot
Although room was small and basic it was comfortable for what we were after, attending an event close to Motel
Room was very new (August 2024) and clean. Seemed sound proofed to the rest of the hotel and the street. Staff were very friendly and remembered my name.
