There are many wineries in the Clare Valley. Mintaro is a short drive from Clare. There are not many attractions in Mintaro itself, but the Magpie and Stump Hotel and Riley's winery are excellent.

A very short drive to many wineries and to Clare for e.g. supplies. The historical buildings in Mintaro made for a nice stroll. The Magpie and Stump pub was great. The cafe open Friday mornings and weekends was also great.

The restful pace of Mintaro life allows visitors to relax. It offers a historical walking trail as well as a lovely home base for exploration of the Clare valley. The village has a great country hotel for meals and sundowner drinks.

This town is a little gem , just far enough away from the...

This town is a little gem , just far enough away from the main centres to feel secluded and distinct . We only had a night there so didn't get to try any of the local cafes . We enjoyed the authenticity of the place and the historical buildings . We didn't visit any wineries but there did seem to be quite a few within a 20 minute drive , so it's probably quite central in that respect .

Mintaro is a small historic village located in the Clare Valley, It is home to the Magpie and Stump. an hotel definitely worth visiting for its good selection of craft beer, local wines and great restaurant

Martindale Hall is well worth a visit.

Martindale Hall is well worth a visit. The local pub (Magpie & stump) has great food and atmosphere. Inspiration point is not very far and has a great view to the east of the hills. The Reisling trail (bike trail) from Auburn to Clare is a short drive away and well worth it. Bikes are easy to rent at a few places along the trail or in Auburn or Clare.
