One small thing to mention: during our stay, there were no napkins or paper towels provided, which was a little inconvenient. Other than that, everything was great.

AustraliaRhys was just amazing, so helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Such an asset to the motel. Sure, the motel is an older style, but the room was immaculately clean, was fully equipped with kettle, toaster, everything you could need. We will definitely be back.

We only stayed overnight, but due to the location of the Motel, we went for a walk in the town in the morning.
What an interesting town, with the War memorial and older Australian buildings, beautifully cared for and intriguing with history.

As I was on a journey to get to Sydney I didn’t have time to...
As I was on a journey to get to Sydney I didn’t have time to stay longer, however I will try to fit that in on my next trip. I didn’t have time to visit the town or the surrounding sites. I was originally thinking to stay in Wagga Wagga but I’m so glad I chose Narrandera.

Narrandera is nice.
Narrandera is nice. Few empty shops in main street suggests it has seen better days but around the town... it appears to be well maintained. Has parks and older buildings converted for community use. It probably suffers in the shade of Wagga but it is slower, quieter and smaller than Wagga and carries the benefits of that as well as the losses.

If you plan to stay here make sure you book early. if driving west it is the perfect driving distance from Sydney.
The club is excellent for a meal and is across the road from the motel.
Short walk to bakery/coffee shop and supermarket to top up on snacks for the next day.

I travel through Narrandera three or four times a years,...
I travel through Narrandera three or four times a years, often on a motorbike, occasionally with my partner in a car.
Relatively, there are many motels in Narrandera but I recommend you book ahead, with care & diligence; while most motels & hotels are quite good I've experienced two bad ones in recent years.
There are a couple of great little main street cafes for breakfast.

Narrandera is a tidy town.
Narrandera is a tidy town. Much of the architecture is of historic value; the town has a well preserved commercial centre and the residential housing is also well kept. The town seems to be well planned with wide streets and established trees.
Dinner at the Bidgee Hotel was really nice.
It has an excellent aquatic centre with an olympic sized pool, huge recreational pool, kids pool and fountains and water slides. The centre is next to Lake Murrumbidgee and an adjacent modern lookout entertains with spectacular views of the Lake and aquatic centre. It is worth the view and seeing it at sunset is extra special. I would have liked to have explored more of the town and its attractions if we had more time.

I was only in Narrandera for one night stay, passing through. The Bishop's Lodge Motel was fine for that experience. Nothing flash, but practical. I did not have the complimentary breakfast as I wanted to get on the road early. Facilities were good, tea, coffee, etc. I liked the big TV as often in some motels you get a tiny TV set that you can't see properly from the bed. Car parking was convenient, right outside the motel room door.

What a breath of freshness to come to stay at a hotel (historic) where everything is an antique, rescued, reused, and with soul. Each piece of unique furniture fills each room with a story. Tina (host and owner) is proud of the restoration with National Trust rulings making the process more challenging. Tina, keep doing what you are doing; your hospitality and care were unforgettable. I will be back.

It was only a few minutes from the centre of Narrandera
Unit was clean, neat and tidy. Only overnight stay, but could have stayed longer.
