United StatesIt was fully furnished in home like style. Very tastefully and interestingly decorated. The owner thought of every detail to make the guest feel at home during vacation from both the style and practicality. We loved that it had a coffee maker and milk in the fridge for our morning coffee. The 3-d map on the wall was a big hit for us! The chairs to watch TV were super comfortable as was the bed. There were blankets and pillows in the living room. Kitchen had everything needed and more like pot with boiled water. Great idea! They have very tasty tap water there. I would highly recommend The Sounds and hope to return myself.

Nubeena is a good base for exploring the Tasman Peninsula.
Nubeena is a good base for exploring the Tasman Peninsula. It is the commercial centre of the district, with a tavern, a cafe, a pharmacy, a bank and a small supermarket. Nearby there is also a Services Club that does meals, another small supermarket and a liquor store.
It provides easy to access all the main attractions of the Peninsula, including Port Arthur, the Coal Mines convict site, Eaglehawk Neck and walking tracks in Tasman National Park.
