Dells Seaside Escape Moonta Bay is a cozy, detached, 3-bedroom holiday home located 328 feet from the beach in Moonta Bay. It features a spacious patio and plenty of free on-site parking. Great layout and space. I was glad that there were aircons in each room we stayed in and it got quite warm. The kids loved their room and the xbox. The kitchen was excellent and the location was superb, so close to the beach, the water park and the jetty. Made it easy for the kids to ride their bikes down to the beach and us walk with a glass of wine of course. We had a great time and would book again The linen service was excellent value for money and saved us so much hassle transporting that stuff.

Moonta is a lovely town with a lot to do in the area. There are lovely beaches, mines for you to look through, a jetty if you like to fish, a water park for families. Great shops to look through as well as a well stocked supermarket. It is a great place to base yourself to do day trips to other towns that are not far away. There is a good choice of places to eat. It is a really nice town to visit.
On arrival told that if we hadn't booked through Booking.com we would have saved $30 a night. No wifi through duration of long weekend which caused a problem as I work. Asked for compensation from Moonta and Booking.com haven't heard anything back.
Moonta is an awesome place to visit. The history of the town and the towns connected (Wallaroo, Kadina) is beyond belief. It is worth the trip, the towns maybe small and nothing like the city but it's nice for that quiet get away and the splash park makes it worth the trip. So go on visit Moonta you won't regret it.
The history of the area is fascinating. Give yourself heaps of time if it’s not school holidays as some things only open Wednesday, Saturday or Sunday. The Cornish pasties on Ellen street are wonderful. The train ride throughout the mining area is great
Moonta Bay. Beach resort and in need of sprucing up. Basic but has potential. Moonta town a historic mining heritage centre. Town needs lifting up. Most striking feature of the town to me was the lack of street trees which would have improved the atmosphere as well as providing shade and relief from dry, scorching hot northerly winds, which dry up all moisture in a town in this semi arid region, which has very hot summers. A lot of potential, unfulfilled. The historic School of Mines, now a museum is fascinating and a great resource. A café would be an asset. Son et luminair shows in restored mine heads would be a drawcard. The Café Capella's in the main street, George Street, is excellent. Great food reasonably priced with prompt friendly service in a pleasant atmosphere. It is open from breakfast to late evening. It serves good coffee, and is licensed with a wine list of excellence South Australian wines, beers and soft drinks.
The host were great - the bond was returned Quick. the house was like it was out of the 70s but well kept. TV was great but us oldies the lounge is to far from TV. the stereo was good. Maybe the fridge could be turned on before we arrived. The heating need addressing for winter, so does the bedding. The external locks need to be deadlocks because the current locks we weren't covered by theft with our travel insurance. Overall the our stay was good. Moonta currently doesn't have much and is expensive to, but Kadina is a lovely drive and has a good range of shops and eateries. I think overall we were happy with the stay .
