Originally built in the 1880s, Clydesdale Manor features with free Wi-Fi and free parking. It is 5 minutes' walk from Sandy Bay. Breakfast was a continental breakfast which was nice. The Location was only 5 min drive to Salamanca.. The bed was comfortable.
Your Home in Sandy Bay is offering accommodations in Sandy Bay. The guesthouse provides both free WiFi and free private parking. At the guesthouse, all rooms include a closet. Linda helped me in a bad situation
Sandy Bay was great. Located about 30 min away from the city by foot, would be good if you’re planning to walk everywhere. However, route to city is significantly steep so be prepared for your butt to burn. Overall a great place to stay if you want to be near the city but do not want to pay double the price for the same kind of accommodation. Our favourite place to eat at was SOLO pasta and pizza, and were impressed with the quality of food. Reservations have to be made prior but takeaways are available.
So much to see and very central to shopping and Battery Point. Only 25 minutes drive to Mount Wellington and a 5 minute drive or 15 minute walk to Constitution Dock. Buses are just around the corner as is a great variety of different food selections for dinner or lunch
Location was good. We arrived and let ourselves in as there is no staff to greet you. The staff member we saw at breakfast was not very welcoming. The breakfast was very average no salt in the salt shaker for 2days. We asked for the room to be serviced and all we got was our bed made,no tidying up, no tissues in tissue box, toiletries not replaced, towels not replaced, the used tea cup was not even removed. We would have been better off at a motor inn.
Within (Long) walking distance to Hobart City and (medium) Uni of Tas. Good restaurants and some brilliant coffee shops. Nice vibe although Sandy Bay Road traffic through the middle. Close to a lovely quiet beach. Casino also close.
Relax on the beach just 70 metres from my home while watching the dogs and their owners at play while off shore there is often a yacht race spectacle to capture the eye. Further along the coast in Sandy Bay are other bigger beaches. The Royal Tasmania Yacht Club and Derwent sailing Squadron are a short distance from my home. On shore are 4 * Chinese restaurants, Thai, Indian, Mexican, Greek, many pubs, taverns to choose from for lunch or dinner. While the ever changing panorama of Mount Wellington offers the pink dawns and the fiery sunsets to anyone lucky enough to look out their Sandy Bay windows. In winter the added bonus is the snow which reflects all the colours of the rainbows. There lot's of shopping options for fashion, shoes, groceries, banking, medical services or hair stylists. Transport options of a Ferry from the Casino to the city or vice versa provides a rich vista of some of Hobart's most sort after properties from the river Derwent. The thing to avoid in Sandy Bay is to stay at home and not embrace the opportunities.
I lived in Sandy Bay 35years ago. Has grown. Still a beautiful place. Easy to get around. Lovely walking along the river, via the yacht clubs, casino and the uni. Impossible to find any negative about Sandy Bay.
