We are extremely pleased with this property! It is one of the best glamping accommodation we had ever stayed. The property is immaculate with extremely comfy beds and sofa. The enclosed bunk bed was so cosy and the playhouse underneath was such a treat for kids! The fire place is a huge bonus and we spent every night by the fire. The bbq on the deck was great - prepared many breakfast and dinners during our one week stay. The property is also walking distance to the beach, perfect for a morning stroll for our family. There is a great lake, the Scamander river, which is only a few mins away by car. Matt kindly loaned us his fishing gear and we spent a few afternoons fishing, definitely one of our family’s favourite activity here. Location was great with easy access to St Helens, Bays of Fire, Bicheno, Freycinet and beyond.

Check in was easy, the cabin was really tops. When I walked in i had a fantastic room. The cabin was very clean & modern, it has everythingy you need for a self catering stay. Had a front deck to have morning coffee looking over the ocean. This place is a good stay. Will return again.

The location is next to the beach, open the door to the deck & its there, sat in the morning sun for a coffee, beautiful! Kayaks were available free. The bed was very, very comfy. The room was large & loverly. Walking distance to some eateries.

Me and my partner both loved this property and only wished we'd arrived a bit earlier on the day of arrival to make the most of our time there. The hosts were brilliant, with the option for animal feeding in the morning definitely worth doing. The whole house was clean and comfortable, with everything you'd need for a short stay. I would absolutely recommend this property.

When we arrived (in the rain) before 2pm, our rooms were naturally not ready, but we were invited into the lounge where a musician was playing. There was food and drinks available. It was a warm and friendly start to our 3 days stay. The hotel is walking distance from shops. The hotel also is in immaculate condition with the gardens are looking great. The room was spotlessly clean and all the staff were extra friendly. We are a couple of Kiwis who have been touring around Tasmania and we found the Panaroma was the very best of all the hotels that we have stayed at.

We tried to found charm in the fibro beach shack, but the long lack of care of it made it frustrating and disgusting to stay. Paid 4 nights, left after 2 feeling depressed... great location but not worth the price asked, we do not recommend this dirty shack, there are other places around...

Our stay at The Surfside Beaumaris was an absolute highlight of our trip! This place is a true hidden gem, tucked away in a beautiful location right on the beach. What truly made our experience special was the lovely couple running the hotel. From the moment we arrived, we were met with such a warm and genuine welcome. It’s clear they are doing a fantastic job—their passion for hospitality shines through in every detail, and they go above and beyond to make every guest feel at home. The beachside restaurant is a must-visit. The food was absolutely awesome—everything was freshly cooked, bursting with flavor, and featured great local Tasmanian ingredients. There is nothing quite like enjoying a delicious, fresh meal while looking out at the ocean. The atmosphere is relaxed, the views are stunning, and the service is top-notch. If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway with incredible views and owners who truly care, this is the place. Thank you for such a lovely stay—we will definitely be back!

A lovely seaside town.

A lovely seaside town. We visited during cooler weather, so didn’t go swimming. I enjoyed walking on the beach and along the paths either direction from town. Shelly Point was lovely for exploring rock pools.

Great location.

Great location. We based ourselves there to do day trips to other tourist spots such as Bicheno, Wine Glass Bay and St Helens. Great coffee at both the cafe's in Scamander - River Mouth cafe has a very relaxed vibe with amazing views.

Would not recommend to those seeking a bit of luxury as this place has really only got 2 things in its favour ,,,POSITION and BEACHES otherwise it is a very dated 1980,s style hotel and the condition of the rooms reflect that. Now don't get me wrong the rooms where clean and well presented and the facilities where adequate. But the view and position can not be beat for those that love beach walks and fishing and such. All this is reflected in the price as it is very affordable and convenient, :As at the time of this visit they are rebuilding the top floors and renovating the hotel bit by bit .
