We like everything that have provided and staff is very friendly to answer all the questions that we have. The cleanliness is super and higher than a lot of 5 star hotel. I am highly recommended who’s no experience on camp before and this could be a place for you all to kick start first. Very unique experience.

The owner Shelley is very friendly and even took us shrimp fishing at night. The view from our room was amazing, and we enjoyed dinner outside on the deck. The room was very clean and comfortable. We stayed in a room with a bathtub and relaxed while soaking in the bath, enjoying the beautiful view outside. It was such a peaceful and relaxing stay. We would love to come back again.

Close connection to the bird-filled lake and clean clear wild beach beyond. Our unit looked over a green lawn to the lake and beach, and the night was filled with the soothing rhythm of waves thumping sand.

We tried to found charm in the fibro beach shack, but the long lack of care of it made it frustrating and disgusting to stay. Paid 4 nights, left after 2 feeling depressed... great location but not worth the price asked, we do not recommend this dirty shack, there are other places around...

Our stay at The Surfside Beaumaris was an absolute highlight of our trip! This place is a true hidden gem, tucked away in a beautiful location right on the beach. What truly made our experience special was the lovely couple running the hotel. From the moment we arrived, we were met with such a warm and genuine welcome. It’s clear they are doing a fantastic job—their passion for hospitality shines through in every detail, and they go above and beyond to make every guest feel at home. The beachside restaurant is a must-visit. The food was absolutely awesome—everything was freshly cooked, bursting with flavor, and featured great local Tasmanian ingredients. There is nothing quite like enjoying a delicious, fresh meal while looking out at the ocean. The atmosphere is relaxed, the views are stunning, and the service is top-notch. If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway with incredible views and owners who truly care, this is the place. Thank you for such a lovely stay—we will definitely be back!

A lovely seaside town.

A lovely seaside town. We visited during cooler weather, so didn’t go swimming. I enjoyed walking on the beach and along the paths either direction from town. Shelly Point was lovely for exploring rock pools.

Great location.

Great location. We based ourselves there to do day trips to other tourist spots such as Bicheno, Wine Glass Bay and St Helens. Great coffee at both the cafe's in Scamander - River Mouth cafe has a very relaxed vibe with amazing views.

Would not recommend to those seeking a bit of luxury as this...

Would not recommend to those seeking a bit of luxury as this place has really only got 2 things in its favour ,,,POSITION and BEACHES otherwise it is a very dated 1980,s style hotel and the condition of the rooms reflect that. Now don't get me wrong the rooms where clean and well presented and the facilities where adequate. But the view and position can not be beat for those that love beach walks and fishing and such. All this is reflected in the price as it is very affordable and convenient, :As at the time of this visit they are rebuilding the top floors and renovating the hotel bit by bit .

There's not a lot at Scamander but the location is rather beautiful and it's in a great location to go see other attraction. We had 3 nights there and went to see the Bay of Fires, Binalong Bay, The Garden and St Columba Falls and The Pub in the Paddock, all within reach. And the meals and staff were very nice. I'd stay there again.
