One of the best glamping place in Australia. We stayed in couples bell tent and it has a lovely fireplace, the bed and things inside the room are high quality. Common kitchen is well equipped, we cooked two meals and had no issues. The property has a private beach with 5 mins walk.

Check in was easy, the cabin was really tops. When I walked in i had a fantastic room. The cabin was very clean & modern, it has everythingy you need for a self catering stay. Had a front deck to have morning coffee looking over the ocean. This place is a good stay. Will return again.

The location is gorgeous with all units overlooking the river mouth; we saw so many birds & surfers too. The apartment feels cosy, clean & well equipped. The host was super helpful & friendly too! We would certainly come back to stay for longer next time!

It was an amazing stay, the cabin was amazing, has everything you need including some games to play, there is also a bbq area, bed was really comfortable. In the morning we saw the parrots, fed the pony a carrot and got to see the chickens and cows. In the night we also saw some possums and wallabies.

The ordered dinner was the best of week, so well prepared, arranged and balanced in taste. The desert was so great. Breakfast was unbeatable with plenty of great choices fantastic lokal tastes and artistic presentations by Judie. The morning tour in the garden was also exceptional nice with many good explanations by Stuart. Summa summarum the hosts made a marvellous start to our 1-week tour.

We tried to found charm in the fibro beach shack, but the long lack of care of it made it frustrating and disgusting to stay. Paid 4 nights, left after 2 feeling depressed... great location but not worth the price asked, we do not recommend this dirty shack, there are other places around...

Our stay at The Surfside Beaumaris was an absolute highlight of our trip! This place is a true hidden gem, tucked away in a beautiful location right on the beach. What truly made our experience special was the lovely couple running the hotel. From the moment we arrived, we were met with such a warm and genuine welcome. It’s clear they are doing a fantastic job—their passion for hospitality shines through in every detail, and they go above and beyond to make every guest feel at home. The beachside restaurant is a must-visit. The food was absolutely awesome—everything was freshly cooked, bursting with flavor, and featured great local Tasmanian ingredients. There is nothing quite like enjoying a delicious, fresh meal while looking out at the ocean. The atmosphere is relaxed, the views are stunning, and the service is top-notch. If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway with incredible views and owners who truly care, this is the place. Thank you for such a lovely stay—we will definitely be back!

A lovely seaside town.

A lovely seaside town. We visited during cooler weather, so didn’t go swimming. I enjoyed walking on the beach and along the paths either direction from town. Shelly Point was lovely for exploring rock pools.

Great location.

Great location. We based ourselves there to do day trips to other tourist spots such as Bicheno, Wine Glass Bay and St Helens. Great coffee at both the cafe's in Scamander - River Mouth cafe has a very relaxed vibe with amazing views.

Would not recommend to those seeking a bit of luxury as this...

Would not recommend to those seeking a bit of luxury as this place has really only got 2 things in its favour ,,,POSITION and BEACHES otherwise it is a very dated 1980,s style hotel and the condition of the rooms reflect that. Now don't get me wrong the rooms where clean and well presented and the facilities where adequate. But the view and position can not be beat for those that love beach walks and fishing and such. All this is reflected in the price as it is very affordable and convenient, :As at the time of this visit they are rebuilding the top floors and renovating the hotel bit by bit .

Love the hotel but the older lady at reception is rude and very unwelcoming.....she said she had no rooms but I could clearly see on line that there was room 7 rooms in all 5 full queen rooms...I find it disappointing that the staff lady did not want guests is just staying as she also turned others away not good..and for her to have a go at me after I went online and booked a rooom I find it very unprofessional..cheer linda..

My husband and I recently stayed at Pelican Sands Scamander. The location and easy access to the beach is perfect. Our room was neat, tidy, and well presented. Arriving on a warm day, staff had turned our rooms air-conditioned on before our arrival, which was lovely. Meeting the motel owner during our stay made our stay feel more special. The owner made us feel welcome and told us about future plans for the location that we can not wait to return with our family to see the vision come to life.

Its location opposite the beach. Very friendly staff. During the first night of my stay there was a terrific storm with unprecedented rainfall which caused extensive flooding in the locality. The main hotel building and owner’s accommodation was flooded but their attention was focussed on the guests whilst attempting their own clean up operation and clearance of flood water.

What a fantastic 2 nights away. Thankyou Barb @ Scamander Beach Resort. Our room was 5⭐ so fresh, clean & the bed was soooo divine. The pool was fabulous after a beach swim & the restaurant was so delicious, all the staff were so friendly & The River Mouth cafe across the road had the best coffee ,brunch and view in Tasmania.
