Excellent glamping experience. We stayed in the Couples Bell Tents and booked 4 for a group of friends travelling together. The beds were comfortable, the tent was spotless as were all the other facilities. The staff were super friendly and all in all it was the best night of our week long trip to Tasmania. We arrived for late check in after the reception closed and the reception staff member came back up to the campsite to open the reception for us so we could buy the firewood pack and recommended the nearby shops and where to go for breakfast . It was very thoughtful and showed the staff go above and beyond to make your stay memorable.

Check in was easy, the cabin was really tops. When I walked in i had a fantastic room. The cabin was very clean & modern, it has everythingy you need for a self catering stay. Had a front deck to have morning coffee looking over the ocean. This place is a good stay. Will return again.

It was an amazing stay, the cabin was amazing, has everything you need including some games to play, there is also a bbq area, bed was really comfortable. In the morning we saw the parrots, fed the pony a carrot and got to see the chickens and cows. In the night we also saw some possums and wallabies.

Beautiful room in this stunning guesthouse. Stewart and Judy made us so welcome and were so helpful. Breakfast was DELICIOUS comprising of lots of home made products such as jams, curds, cake, bread, sausage rolls, cereals and granola, peanut butter. They also offer an evening meal (reservations in advance). The guesthouse also showcases a gallery of art works. Everything had been carefully thought out and provided for to ensure guests have the best stay possible. Located opposite the beach and a short distance from St Helens and the Bay of Fires, it’s a great location for exploring. We watched wallabies come up to feed at dusk. Just wished we could have stayed longer.

We tried to found charm in the fibro beach shack, but the long lack of care of it made it frustrating and disgusting to stay. Paid 4 nights, left after 2 feeling depressed... great location but not worth the price asked, we do not recommend this dirty shack, there are other places around...

Our stay at The Surfside Beaumaris was an absolute highlight of our trip! This place is a true hidden gem, tucked away in a beautiful location right on the beach. What truly made our experience special was the lovely couple running the hotel. From the moment we arrived, we were met with such a warm and genuine welcome. It’s clear they are doing a fantastic job—their passion for hospitality shines through in every detail, and they go above and beyond to make every guest feel at home. The beachside restaurant is a must-visit. The food was absolutely awesome—everything was freshly cooked, bursting with flavor, and featured great local Tasmanian ingredients. There is nothing quite like enjoying a delicious, fresh meal while looking out at the ocean. The atmosphere is relaxed, the views are stunning, and the service is top-notch. If you’re looking for a peaceful getaway with incredible views and owners who truly care, this is the place. Thank you for such a lovely stay—we will definitely be back!

A lovely seaside town.

A lovely seaside town. We visited during cooler weather, so didn’t go swimming. I enjoyed walking on the beach and along the paths either direction from town. Shelly Point was lovely for exploring rock pools.

Great location.

Great location. We based ourselves there to do day trips to other tourist spots such as Bicheno, Wine Glass Bay and St Helens. Great coffee at both the cafe's in Scamander - River Mouth cafe has a very relaxed vibe with amazing views.

Would not recommend to those seeking a bit of luxury as this place has really only got 2 things in its favour ,,,POSITION and BEACHES otherwise it is a very dated 1980,s style hotel and the condition of the rooms reflect that. Now don't get me wrong the rooms where clean and well presented and the facilities where adequate. But the view and position can not be beat for those that love beach walks and fishing and such. All this is reflected in the price as it is very affordable and convenient, :As at the time of this visit they are rebuilding the top floors and renovating the hotel bit by bit .

Love the hotel but the older lady at reception is rude and very unwelcoming.....she said she had no rooms but I could clearly see on line that there was room 7 rooms in all 5 full queen rooms...I find it disappointing that the staff lady did not want guests is just staying as she also turned others away not good..and for her to have a go at me after I went online and booked a rooom I find it very unprofessional..cheer linda..

The hotel was transitioning to new owners during our stay so the bar and restaurant were closed but this meant the hotel was almost empty which made for a very quiet pleasant stay right opposite the beach whilst our cabin was being delivered. Comfy bed and great room facilities and amazing location right opposite the beach. The new owner is very accomodating and friendly.

Beautiful view upon waking up to the sunrise. Great place to stay if just passing through and needing a stop from a long drive. We arrived late, and it was difficult to find decent food close by. We went to Scamander Beach Resort for dinner but the food was awful.
