Scottsdale on a Saturday after lunch time is dead. The locals all flock to the local cafe Dell-vette which serves the most delicious meals. We tried the Pea and Ham soup, got to be the best ever. The Salvos op shop was open so managed to purchase a book from them. Supermarket and pub also remain open but in general main shopping strip is closed.
Highly recommend the North East Rail Trail which starts in Scottsdale for cycling or walking. The Scottsdale Rotary Club have done a fantastic job creating and maintaining this trail. A family friendly fun day out.

Pretty village with everything we needed including a little brewery. Good coffee shop at the Eco centre heading just out of town, Very central for the wine trail and local sites including the lavender farm. Not too far for Launceston bit of a drive to St Helens but we managed a day trip to that area.
Scottsdale is a handy base for exploring the region on day trips; we went east to Eddystone Point, west to Bridport and south to Lilydale and Bridestowe with no problems. Scottsdale has supermarkets, a bakery, cafes and hotels which means there are places to eat or buy food etc.
