Food and drink was excellent. Short drive to Smithton for anything extra the town dosnt have you might need.

Beautiful beaches, we had dinner at Hursey restaurant is a must if you are in Stanley it was amazing. We stayed at the big 4 Stanley holiday park which was lovely gardens and grounds are well maintained. Cabins are super clean. Penguins come out at night and walk around the park though we only spotted one. We only stayed 2 nights.

The obvious attraction is The Nut.
The obvious attraction is The Nut. You can either walk up or take the chairlift. The walk up is quite steep but well worth it. Walking the track around the top of The Nut is also worthwhile for the views. One other gem we found in Stanley was a very interesting wine bar. The entry from the road is a very unassuming door, but when you walk in it is like walking into another place and time. Well worth visiting for a unique experience . . . and of course a glass or two of wine !!

The chairlift/walk up the Nut and visiting Highfield historic house.
One day trip to Rocky Cape National Park.
Two day trips along the inland and coastal sections of the Tarkine Drive.
We bought two excellent seafood/fish meals from Hursey Seafoods.
Otherwise, we self-catered.
We are NOT a young couple - we're in our late seventies!

Lovely quaint village type feel.
Definitely worth the drive
Had dinner at the Pub which was good. Need to book tho.
The Touchwood Cafe was great.
The providore was an excellent shop with lots of goodies .

I would recommend staying at Smithton for a less commercial, touristy experience. One night in Stanley to experience seeing the little penguins is probably sufficient. Staying in Smithton is more central for the NW - Arthur River, Woolnorth Tour etc and there are more amenities.

Lovely outlook over grassy green paddocks and beach in North West Tasmania. Our room was very clean, beds comfy and room well appointed with all the things we needed for a comfortable stay. Communication with our host Charlotte was excellent and very accommodating for our family.
We would recommend and stay again. Location best suited to those with a car.

The location was on the hillside above Stanley and the view of Stanley and the Nut was remarkable. The unit was clean and warm. It was a short drive into town, and there was enough open for us to find meals wine and souvenirs.
