The location is convenient with a spectacular view of the harbour. The kitchen is modern and well stocked which is rare in most places we rent. House had washer and dryer which was convenient for us who had been travelling for a month. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom were clean and modern. The best view we could ever had and we would jump to stay here again. Our only regret is that we didn't stay any longer. Probably my dream house overlooking the harbour!

Very clean cottage. We could park directly outside our cottage and that saved us the torture of moving the suitcases. We could cook in the kitchen and got our laundry done for a small fee. Jill at the reception was nice and helpful with our enquiries, board rental and kayak rental. Patrick's IGA and The Ship That Never Was are all a short drive away. Beautiful sunset at the esplanade.

Strahan is a beautiful place,quiet and peaceful along the...

Strahan is a beautiful place,quiet and peaceful along the rugged west coast. Lovely walks around and play areas for children. There are plenty of places to eat along the Esplanade and drink delicious coffee and take in the scene. where the foreshore is dotted with boats. From Strahan there are many walks that can be completed from short walks that only take 40 minutes to some that are 4 to 5 hours long; all very beautiful.

We went specifically to have the Gordon River cruise & it...

We went specifically to have the Gordon River cruise & it was wonderful. We also went to the play "The Ship That Never Was" which was a hoot, very well done & funny. It's a lovely little town but I think we saw all there was to see in the few days we were there. If we had been big walkers we could have seen & done more exploring.

Arrive the night before your planned cruise day on the...

Arrive the night before your planned cruise day on the Gordon River. There are two cruise companies to choose from. After your cruise, visit the Morrison Huon Pine Sawmill. That night, go to a performance of 'The Ship That Never Was', you need to book. This is best done after your Gordon River Cruise. The next morning, drive to Regatta Point Railway Station to ride the West Coast Wilderness Railway. Again, you will need to book to avoid disappointment. If your transport allows, as it is a gravel road, go to Ocean Beach and see what it has to offer visitors.

Strahan is a beautiful, quiet escape.

Strahan is a beautiful, quiet escape. Despite the long drive to get here, the stunning views and tranquil atmosphere made every kilometer worth it. The small community is filled with friendly, warm-hearted people. We were also blown away by the food; the abundance of fresh seafood is a definite highlight. If you're looking for a peaceful getaway with great people and amazing food, this is the place to be. Our stay at Strahan was made even better by the Gordon River Cruise, which was an absolutely highlight - truly must do, also thoroughly enjoyed our meals at the restaurant located right across from the wharft

I liked the fact i was visiting the most western part of...

I liked the fact i was visiting the most western part of Tasmania. I found Strahan to be very expensive if you are a celiac with very few choices on the menu. I was wishing there were some more shops to look at to fill in time after I had done all the sight seeing. I found the souvenirs to be very well priced. I really enjoyed my hike to Hoggarth falls, it was very scenic. I also liked to see the places that were filmed in the tv series " Bay Of Fires". I did think thaf Strahan was a very scenic seaside town.

Really relaxing environs. beautiful part of Australia. Best of the lot is the nightly play (32 years running - Australian record) "The ship that never was" Brilliantly played and hilarious. A must see.

Clean and quiet caravan park cabin within walking distance of Strahan town, local playgrounds and across from a swimming "beach". Good size for a family of 5. Basic amenities such as tea, coffee, sugar and bath products provided. Local IGA for all the rest. Also, highly recommend the local Hogarth Falls walk and the "World Heritage Cruise" (red boat) during your stay- the highlight of the trip to Tassie's wilderness.

This was the idea stop for us during our 25 night holiday in Tasmania. Having the whole house enabled us to rest and reset for the next part of our journey. For example as it had the facilities to wash and dry clothes, including suppling of washing powder and room to hang out clothes. Great base from which to explore Strahan. Under cover parking for two vehicles was good.

The property is beautiful, very spacious, luxury is the word that comes to mind. We wanted for nothing (other than 2 wine glasses!) Beautiful finishes, fixtures and fittings. Everything is quality. covered off street parking a bonus. Highly recomend this to visitors to Strahan. Thanks!
