United StatesThis place is a hidden gem. I want to sing it's praises, but I also don't want anyone else to know about it! Great value. Large clean room with everything that you need. Beautiful location across the road from the lake. Early morning walks around the lake and great pastry and coffee a minute walk down the road at the Milung General Store. Amazing staff (I'm sorry I've forgotten your name!). Very attentive. Great place!

Of the four hotels in Strathalbyn we enjoyed the meal at the...
Of the four hotels in Strathalbyn we enjoyed the meal at the Robin Hood Hotel the most. We have visited Strathalbyn on three different occasions and find it a good base. We're from N.S.W. and this time stayed at Strathalbyn before catching the ferry to Kangaroo Island. ( Cape Jarvis is one and a half hours drive away via Victor Harbor.)

I was very surprised to receive a rather negative phone call from the owner after we had left about my review of their property. And with this in mind I would probably not return to this property.

What a lovely town!!!
What a lovely town!!! I wish we had longer there, we stopped over after leaving Kangaroo Island. So pretty and quiet, lots of antique shops and a car museum, It seems the whole town has been renovated. All the old buildings are in great condition and the gardens in the town are lovely. I hope I can get back there and stay a couple of nights.

We enjoyed walking around the interesting historic town and lovely gardens. There were a few interesting antique shops. We stayed at the Victoria Hotel, the room was good, clean and comfortable and we had lovely roast lamb for dinner in their bistro. A few cafes in town looked good, but we didn't get a chance to try them. Monarto Safari Park is about 30 mins drive away passing through lovely farmland. This is a great park but I think their safari bus (hop on hop off style) times could be worked better to not miss out animals.

Cute little town close to the Langhorne Creek wine region.
Cute little town close to the Langhorne Creek wine region. Lovely shops, cafes and pubs. A beautiful park with lots of birds and pretty places to sit and relax. Great meals at the Victoria Hotel. An excellent breakfast at The Appleseed Cafe.

A wonderful stay at Strathalbyn Cottage. It is beautifully appointed, lovely touches left by the owners such as fresh sourdough bread, coffee beans and milk and butter in the fridge. The location is centrally located, just a couple mins walk into town. The back porch has a lovely outlook overlooking the bush and stream. The passionfruits in the front yard were a bonus and absolutely delicious. Would highly recommend Strathalbyn Cottages, I thoroughly enjoyed staying here and would not hesitate to return here again next time.

Absolutly best stay ever!!!
Barry the host was awsum and really took time to tell us about the property.
The room was exceptionally clean and the bed ( although it says large double) is actually a queen and so comfy.
The grounds are divine its like sitting in heaven.
We got to feed the girls( Barry's cows)
The breakfast was amazing ( better than many 5 star hotels)
We have travelled extensively in the u.k, France and Australia and i would rate this stay in the top 5.

In room breaky available. Purchased mini-bar style goodies from reception.
We booked this hotel because of the EV charger out front. It's run by Chargefox, not affiliated with hotel. Elsewhere we have had to use an extension cord hanging out windows, or if lucky an outdoor power point. This is not ideal.
When heading back to Victoria we stayed here again.

The motel apartment at the back of the hotel was very spacious and quiet. The main room had a queen sized bed, single bed and breakfast bar and table. The bathroom was spacious and included a shower/spa. I loved the extra touch of the continental breakfast pack provided in the room with very nice ground coffee for the plunger - a nice bonus.

It is perfectly located for Strathalbyn and the Fleurieu region.
McLaren Vale is a short and beautiful drive away.
