Loma cottages sits in the sleepy town of Lunawanna, just a short drive away from the attractions of Bruny Island. The cottages are surrounded by wildlife: tons of wallabies and pademelons, echidnas and we saw a sea eagle just meters away at the nearby bay. The cottages are very well appointed and comfortable, with a great kitchen. The hosts are very friendly and professional, and they have great advice about the area and the island. I would recommend grabbing lunch at Bruny Island Premium Wines, which you can reach with a 10 minute bushwalk.

We loved The Chapel. It sits on a hill overlooking the Huon River with great views all round and only a few minutes from Cygnet. It is a very private place surrounded by paddocks which were great for wandering in. The fire place was fantastic for the couple of cooler nights we had and the views from the cauldron bath tub were amazing. The hosts communicated everything we needed to know and we were very lucky to receive a few goodies, most of which we used on the stay. We would definitely stay again.

If you visit Hastings Caves be sure to take some warm...

If you visit Hastings Caves be sure to take some warm clothing as it is 9 degrees inside (something we didn't know). The cave entry ticket also includes free use of the thermal pool. Just pool entry is a very reasonable price at $2.50 per child so always worth a visit. There is so much to do in the area. We walked the track to Duckhole Lake. We will definitely be back for more sightseeing.
