Tanunda township provides an ideal base, with a wide range of facilities including fabulous food and wine, in town and throughout the district. Get on board and get yourself to Tanunda and the Barossa.
Tanunda and Angaston are both beautiful towns. Good food, good wine and beautiful scenery. Strongly suggest Casa Caboni for a great authentic Italian meal. The Clubhouse accomodation was very modern, spacious and a guaranteed great night's sleep. Good dining facilities available for lunch and dinner. Breakfast isn't available but there are plenty of cafe options close by. Wineries are also great. Gibson and Willow are well worth a look (and taste). Best of all you don't have to buy a flight. You can drink what you like! 10/10
Our stay was just perfect. The apartment was spotless, we were in unit 4, upstairs, with a beautiful view from the window. The unit was well equipped. Two bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Made a perfect getaway for us.
A really lovely apartment in a great location with all quality inclusions. Great for two friends sharing with two double bedrooms and two bathrooms with full kitchen facilities. Very well located in the Main Street of Tanunda, and there’s a free laundry on site.
The locals were very friendly and welcoming. Plan ahead for winery visits - especially on weekends. Great bakery and food shops. Visit the excellent tourist info centre early to plan your trip and also see the excellent explanations of the local area and history. The town library is also at the back of the centre with access to local papers and wifi. Interesting shops down the main street. The Jaguar car museum in Basedow St, enthralled my husband for a couple of hours. He said it was awesome. The gallery off the main street is excellent and at 11.30 each Wednesday enthusiastic locals provide a demonstration and talk about the restored organ housed in the adjoining hall. The Calabria family winery and the Harvest Kitchen are a must visit location with a beautiful view. Ferment Asian in the main street was recommended and didn't disappoint. Z wine bar was also a highlight for an evening trip.
Beautiful little town and the heart of the Barossa. Easy to get around with all of the conveniences required. There is no Uber but the taxi companies were friendly if not busy. (no online booking system). Safe to walk around with a reasonable number of cellar doors surrounding the town.
Cabernet Cottage is just beautiful. It is located close to the main street of Tanunda making it a very easy walk to find a nice restaurant or pub for eating out or just do some shopping in this lovely town. It is also just a short drive from lots of great Barossa Valley Vineyards. The house is just beautiful with large rooms and very clean with lots of awesome little touches (eggs, bacon, milk, fresh bread, tomatoes, port, rocky road) and a pantry full of everything you would need left by the wonderful hosts Sharyn and Michael.
Perfect location in Tanunda, easy walking distance to main shopping area, spectacular view of the hills, lots of room to move, great facilities, including fire pit to sit and admire the views with a nice glass of bubbles, while enjoying a BBQ. Attention to detail. House has all kitchen requirements and more. Would recommend staying at Barossa Idyll.
We enjoyed our stay at Langmeil Cottages - very relaxing. Cynthia and Colin are great hosts and very helpful with local knowledge. The Cottages are central to most of the wineries with a easy drive or bicycle ride - there are bikes available to use. A bit of a walk to the shops, cafes and restaurants in Tanunda or a short drive to Nuriootpa.
Alicia is a wonderful host, even contacting me before for additional information to make breakfast the best for us. Aircon was left on so that we were comfortable on arrival. Highly recommend Miriams cottage for a stay in Barrossa with very easy walking to the local shops in Tanunda.
I've stayed at a lot of country hotels/motels when visiting regional SA for work. The rooms and ensuites, and the restaurant at Barossa Wiental have all been renovated/refurbished and styled to a very high standard. The designer is to be congratulated - great job!
Cottage was beautifully presented, clean and comfortable. Breakfast supplies were very generous, plus wine. Host was very friendly when contacted for information on how to access cottage. We will definitely recommend this cottage to others.
Beautiful welcome! Music playing, subtle lighting and heating on. Exceptionally clean. Loved all the plants in the unit - made it feel even more welcoming. An easy stroll into town and located right next to Chateau Tanunda!!
Staff member we dealt with was great on every interaction, so friendly and appeared happy and genuinely interested in us enjoying our stay. Whilst a budget hotel it was clean and comfortable and suited our purpose.
Excellent location, near the Main Street. Spotlessly clean. Very comfortable bed. Everything you would possibly need. So well equipped. Delightful period cottage in excellent condition with quality furnishings
One of a small group of houses. Location was ideal. Tanunda is a lovely town, perfect for a leisurely stroll after dining in one of many inviting eateries. And of course the wonderful wineries at your doorstep.
Barossa House is a lovely heritage building well located to Tanunda. Our host Sophia was wonderful and made the trip and great experience - breakfast was a real treat
Location was fantastic - within walking distance to Tanunda Village eg shops, pubs, cafes etc. Pool was an added bonus especially after a hot day.
Beautiful property very close to Tanunda, perfect for staying and exploring the Barossa
