United StatesThis is a GREAT motel in Armidale, very close to everything. The new owners have renovated the rooms and they are fantastic, simple, gorgeous mid century style, and the shower is amazing. The fact that they have a pool and a nice grass area adds to the atmosphere.
The staff are very lovely and generous with their time. I was thoroughly looked after and really enjoyed this motel. Appreciative that the new owners took the opportunity to renovate.

Uralla and surrounding districts have much early pioneer...
Uralla and surrounding districts have much early pioneer settlement history. Bush Ranger history and sites and an old world charm. Many scenic vistas. The Bolt in has a fabulous menu and generous size servings, this hotel has recently had a large renovation sympathetic to its history, the rooms upstairs now all have ensuites which elevates your pub accomodation experience. The local museum, services by volunteers had a great display and that big wood burning stove keeps you warm.

I just love Uralla, a very pretty little town and even prettier at night.
53 on Bridge is a great take away shop the food was very tasty and not overly expensive. Would highly recommend. Lots of lovely little shops and very easy to walk around.

Uralla is a good base to use to explore the surrounding area in the Northern Tablelands of NSW, There's a lot of history (think bushrangers and gold mining), birdlife, autumn coloured foliage is spectacular, waterfalls (be prepared to drive to those. Uralla has cafes and pubs that provide excellent menus with an emphasis on local produce .

Uralla is an attractive small town with an excellent museum...
Uralla is an attractive small town with an excellent museum focussing on local history staffed by very knowledgeable volunteers. Next to the museum is a well-stocked shop offering a wide variety of locally made goods. Thunderbolt‘s grave, Gostwyk church and a historic woodshed are nearby points of interest. The town itself looks very well-maintained with attractive shops, cafes and pubs lining the main road.
Add on Armidale for another day or three, ensuring to time your visit around guided tours of the Saumarez Homestead. The historic bus tour organised by the tourist information office is also very good. Armidale Regional Art Museum is worth a visit and the galettes offered by the French-Style Cafe Patisserie make a welcome change to the run-of-the-mill burgers dominating menus across the country.

We always break our journey in Uralla.
We always break our journey in Uralla. The shops are interesting and we enjoy taking a walk around the town. This time we visited the lagoon and did some bird watching and photography. Previously we have taken the gold mining trail which is great. The Alternate Root is our favourite place for breakfast.

Very friendly shop people.. pies were great. The BP service station served excellent pork chops, veges and chips. As well as steak sandwiches and toasted sandwiches. The motorbike repair shop owner was friendly and a good bloke. The Bolt Hotel/motel served THE BEST RUMP STEAK WITH MUSHROOM / STEAK DIANNE SAUCE AND SALAD . Way better than Maitland restaurants. Call in and enjoy the meals and service. Uralla is great.

I booked this place hoping for a bit of small town Australian charm and it absolutely did not disappoint! Such a lovely and lovingly updated hotel. Friendly staff and excellent food.
Our room had a shared bathroom which was sparkling clean and beautifully decorated.
The town of Uralla itself is a perfect small place and so worth a visit. And if you are visiting, the Bolt Inn is the place to be staying for sure.

The motel ownership has changed but the motel hasn't. Basic and old fashioned - just the way I like it. Why pay extra when you just need a room to sleep in? The room was comfortable and they still use blankets (I hate doonas) and have face washers. It's on a busy road but we were not bothered by the noise because the room remained quiet. I always stay here when I'm in Uralla and I will continue to do so.

The property was so comfortable, a home away from home. Everything you could need was provided. We especially enjoyed the wood heater. Laundry facilities a huge help with a two year old. Uralla is a beautiful town.
