The lady was very friendly as we arrived later in the evening and she was there to meet us and show us our room, where the bathrooms were and advised of the best place to go to for dinner within walking distance

Good location, half way along a road trip, but not in a busy city. A quiet, picturesque, country pub, big on service and hospitality. I out ran a storm that devastated Tamworth and sought sanctuary. There were major blackouts just after I arrived, but the staff were all over it. Calm and in control. I didn’t want for anything. The kitchen staff just advised me I would have to eat before dark and showed me the menu items they could prepare with gas. The bar manager was amazing. I just sat and had a drink and listened to her organise everything on the phone as cool as a cucumber.
