Sheki is a very interesting city with many places worth visiting. The Khan’s Palace and the historic Karvansaray are among the main attractions and give a good impression of the city’s history and culture. For food and drinks, I would recommend Bayzade, which is located not far from the hotel. They offer a good variety of local dishes and beverages. The place has a pleasant atmosphere, and we received a warm and friendly welcome at the entrance. It is a very nice place to relax and enjoy local food after sightseeing.

Sheki has two main historic attractions - the Karavansaray and the Khan's Palace. Both can lead you to imagine the Silk Route as it was centuries ago. The main road in Sheki is a bit of a challenge at the moment with holes being dug at regular intervals in the middle of the road and deep drainage channels. Locals slalom around the obstruction using both sides of the road. We were rather more cautious! In May the snow melt is largely gone leaving drab, grey river beds. When in flood the sight would be spectacular.

Those who know Sheki already aware of that city is very authentic, and the people are warm and friendly. If you want to get away from Baku during the especially Novruz, Sheki would be the first city I’d recommend. At Gagarin, the piti was truly as delicious as they say.

Sheki is one of the most charming and authentic cities I have visited. Walking through the old streets and visiting places like the beautiful Palace of Shaki Khans and the historic Caravanserai of Sheki really makes you feel the rich history of the region. I also loved the peaceful atmosphere, the green mountains surrounding the city, and the warm hospitality of the local people. Of course, tasting traditional sweets like Sheki Halva was another highlight.

I didn't love the main city area as much as the historical road leading up to the Sheki Palace. The people in Sheki and all of Azerbaijan were very nice. The two palaces were worth the visit. We did a day trip to Kish, as well as a Waterfall and Saint George's Church. I'd recommend everything. One thing I didn't like was all the trash. It seems like a lot of people just throw their trash when hiking. It was still beautiful. Lots of places to stop between Sheki and Baku.

The host Ilaha is a wonderful person that made our stay memorable. Friendly and helpful. Sorted out the laundry issue for a small surcharge. Arranged for a cheap and pleasant transfer to the Georgian border. Breakfast was plentiful with homemade jam, cheese among others. Next to hotel is an excellent and inexpensive restaurant "Sarin". Hotel is a 10 minutes walk from the bus station in Sheki.

I really liked the hospitality of the hotel staff, especially Asim. The property is luxurious, has a very good restaurant, location is very peaceful. Overall, a good value for money for your stay in Sheki. The hotel also provides day trip taxi facility to Gabala, so you can opt for it if you want.
