Angra is a good place to stay for 1-3 days before going to Ilha Grande. If you stay in an apartment in Piratas Mall, as we did, you are 5 blocks away from the Bus station, where you can take a bus to Paraty. And also 25 minutes away from the Port, Santa Lucia, where you can buy excursions to the islands, which are beautiful. I did not go to the beach in Angra, just took a boat excursion (excellent) and went to Paraty.PaulaArgentina - Scored 1010

Paradise started here! I guess there is no other description to the place. Where can I start it? Its millions of islands and beaches with foaming greenish water? The forest that ends up right at the beach? Or all the fauna you can find just swimming in ANY beach (like turtles, fish, crabs, corals, you name it!) Angra is beautiful and i have coming here for family visits for 10 years, but crime has hit Angra bad and i am scared to return. Many special forces, BOP, and police lined the streets. With the pacification of Rio for Olymipics and world cup, angra got the worst of the people.JoelUnited States of America
