Imbassaí is beautiful all year-round. The part where the river meets the ocean is beautiful but always full of people. I recommend walking further away by the beach where you can find small restaurants like Santorini or Porto da jangada where Trudy and Zemar take really good care of you. At night, you can have dinner at Jerimum where they serve a great pizza and other wonderful things. Everything is closeby so you can walk everywhere.

Brush up on your Portuguese, basic phrases go a long away. The Brazilian BBQ restaurant was our favorite. The property is not super large so walking around is easy. All we did was lounge and we loved every minute of it. Zentropia offers massage therapy and I recommend it.

Quiet village, vehicles excluded from many areas. Endless coconut palm groves streaching for miles along the beach. Reasonable food, although its not the gourmet stuff you come for. Very friendly locals

This is a place to rest and go back to contact with nature. There are a couple of good (sofisticated) restaurants, but the majority are simple - and still good. Do not expect any fancy shops or shopping centres - that would be Praia do Forte. Restaurants at the beach are usually run by locals, and food is delicious. Enjoy the Imbassai River. - it has sandy banks and the water is (was) really nice. Once you enter Imbassai (the town is about 2 miles from the main road), you can easily get around the town centre and reach the beach on foot. You would not be able to access the beach by car. There was a park with children play area, but we didn’t use it - stayed at the beach. Once you reach the beach, walk along further north for 200m, there last few “barrancas” have hammocks, showers and nice service. We headed to “Coqueiral”. Recommend the “aipim frito” - cassava fry, and “preixe assado “ - roasted fish. During our stay, they were able to accept credit card. Please note that the majority of places at the beach would accept debit cards, but check first about credit cards (and which ones)

Nice beach, more quiet, cleaner and cheaper than the popular Praia do Forte, which however is only 10km away and one can easily go for the day or have dinner. Good surf both for beginners and more advanced. Recommended stay min. 4-5 days to allow yourself time to visit the nearby beach towns. Recommended to go by car so you can get to know the area. Great local restaurant "Sabores na janela" off the main square.
