Most stunning property with intimate feel and kindest people working there from check in to restaurant and amazing valet, drivers and cleaning crew! Couldn’t ask for a better place in Bahamas! Driving was easy for the first time driving on the other side of the road. Super easy! It was helpful to have my own car on the island as hotel is about 10 minutes away from the airport. Absolutely loved the food at this magnificent property! Way better then anywhere else on the island!

I had the most amazing experience staying at A Stone’s Throw Away in the Bahamas February 2025. From the breathtaking views to the cozy, well-kept rooms, everything about this place exceeded my expectations. However, what truly made my stay unforgettable was the kindness of the staff. One particular staff member went above and beyond when my suitcase zipper broke. Without hesitation, she brought me a new one from her own home—at no cost! It was such a selfless and touching gesture, and at that moment, she felt like an angel sent from heaven. The hospitality, warmth, and care I experienced here were unlike anything else. First, let say the host was great, helpful, and kind. The room was very cozy and comforting and clean and in a nice neighborhood and conveniently located near the airport. The large screen TV had CableTV and streaming services. There was a pool that looked good, and I was invited to use it but didnt have time.

The house is absolutely stunning and has an ideal location right on a secluded beach. It’s small and cozy, perfect for 1-2 people. The views from the living room/bedroom and the porch are gorgeous. The beach is lovely, and the courtyard with a hammock is delightful as well. The host and the neighbors are also super nice. It’s an ideal getaway. It’s best to have your own car to get groceries or explore the surrounding areas as it’s hard/expensive to get a cab sometimes. But either way, the location is totally worth it.

First of all, we LOVED this place. It’s right in front of the beach, and you can hear the waves — such a vibe. We met some amazing people! We stayed in the mixed dorms (as two girls traveling, we felt safe for the entire three days). When we left for the day, we left our stuff right on our beds with no worries about anything getting stolen. There are small safes if you want to store money or your passport, but we didn’t end up using them. When we arrived, someone named Mercy greeted us. She’s adorable — very sweet — and gave us a little tour, taxi phone numbers, and fresh towels. Before coming, we read the reviews and were a bit nervous because there were a lot of negative comments. But honestly… everything turned out perfect. Yes, there is hot water for the showers. Yes, there was AC in our mixed dorm. Yes, our bed, sheets, and towels were clean. No, there were no bed bugs. No the pool wasn’t dirty, the water was cold but it was nice As for the cleanliness: it wasn’t nearly as bad as some reviews made it seem. If you’re super picky, just go to a 5-star hotel. A hostel is for people backpacking or traveling on a budget. You get what you pay for — and for us, it was great. There are buses every 30 minutes. You can take the 10 or 12 to go downtown (costs 1.50$). There are a few restaurants nearby, and a Super Value grocery store close by as well.
