Hotel in Caye Caulker
Weezie’s Oceanfront Hotel and Garden Cottages is a boutique hotel located on the eastern shore of Caye Caulker with views of the barrier reef. Free WiFi is available. Weezie's is an absolute dream <3 We stayed in one of the cottages which is located two blocks from the main hotel (this was a positive for us as we couldn't smell the sargassum from there)and it was absolutely perfect. The cottage itself was beautifully decorated, had all the cooking facilities we needed and was always cleaned well. There is also a phone located at the cottages, so if you need anything you can just call the front hotel without needing to go there. We loved riding around the island (on bikes we hired from the front hotel) and coming back to relax on our balcony or swim in the beautiful pool. The staff here are also great and help out with anything you need.

Facing the beachfront in Caye Caulker, Jan's Hotel features a private beach area and a terrace. The hotel is on the main strip right where you want to be. Definitely one of the nicest and newest places on the main road. The only reason I would stay somewhere else is this place had no vacancy or I wanted to rent a house and maybe have more seclusion. Once I booked, I received an email immediately asking if I’d like the hotel to arrange transportation from the airport in Belize City to the hotel. I said yes and I’m so thankful I did. It made the whole experience of getting there very pleasant. The staff at Jan’s is unbelievably accommodating. The owner was there at the property and was just a nice and friendly as the staff.

Covid-19 is the only drawback to our visit to Caye Caulker. Many attractions and restaurants were closed. We were able to stay as busy as we wanted during our stay. Relaxing was our goal and we easily accomplished that as well as shopping, sight seeing, snorkeling, swimming and dining. Everyone was friendly and I felt very safe walking around after dark.
Wonderful 3 days on the island. Ferry rides from Belize City are regular, on time and good value. Weather was incredible and the island seemingly not too overdeveloped. The bars and restaurants served good quality local food. Enjoyable excursions to snorkel on the reef and a Sunset Cruise. Will be returning to Belize again for sure.
It was a great place for walking around, eating good food at outside tables, and getting to know. It wasn't so good for swimming although the snorkeling was good, especially the guide and the turtles. The weather was very windy (late Feb-early March) but more sunny than cloudy and the warm clear evenings were absolutely unforgettable. We especially liked Caribbean Colors for breakfast/lunch and the Hybisca Restaurant for dinner and entertainment. This island and neighboring Ambergris Caye are renown for their diving and snorkeling opportunities.
This is a very unique place. The pace is very slow and relaxed and the people are friendly. There are lots of young people there and the vibe is very 'chill'! We really enjoyed the north island's Koko Beach for an afternoon of chilling out and swimming and relaxing. The beach and the water were perfect for us. We rented bikes and were able to pedal the circumference of the island and up and down all the streets easily.
Caye Caulker is a laid back (Go Slow is the motto) where the primary mode of transportation is walking. Golf carts are available either to rent or as taxis, but the portion of the Caye from "The Split" down to the airport is only about a mile long and from less than a mail to .15 miles across, so walking is very easy. There is an abundance of grilled seafood and other staples. There are also some specialty restaurants (Italian, pizza, etc). Lots of snorkeling and scuba off shore, and plenty of places to enjoy your favorite drink either near or in the water. All in all, a great place to play and/or relax.
With daytime highs of 28C (real feel 32), I couldn’t walk around this interesting island. There weren’t many places to swim. So I had to stay in during the day (or sit under palm trees or in bars ... sunbathing is NOT my thing) and go out at night. I solved the problem by taking 3 snorkelling full day trips out of the 6 days I was there.

Everything was AWESOME! The caretaker was super easy to get ahold of, she arranged our transport from the airport to the water taxi and arranged for someone to meet us at the dock and give us the key and code to our villa. The villa was gorgeous, the view was gorgeous, location was fantastic and the beds were super comfortable. The pool and rooftop hot tub were also outstanding and very clean. I cannot say enough good things about our stay here. The caretaker even arranged for us a taxi back to the airport on our departure. FANTASTIC stay!!!!
Caye Caulker
The staff and rooms were great. Loved having the kitchenette to whip up a quick lunch, and the pool to take a quick dip in the afternoon heat. The staff allowed us to use their laundry facilities, which was much needed after 2 weeks of hiking through the jungle. It was also nice being a little bit outside of the hustle of the main tourist area.
