Virginia and all staff was so nice and accommodating. They allowed us change our dates free of charge since our flight was cancelled. They allowed us to have our wedding ceremony on their property and they were incredibly helpful and even made us a beautiful bouquet! It was the perfect balance of helpfulness and privacy. The pictures do not do justice for just how incredible the scenery is right from your window/front door. Best travel experience I have ever had.
Surrounded by tropical gardens, Maya Mountain Lodge & Tours offers an outdoor pool, a restaurant and bright accommodations with free Wi-Fi and wonderful garden views. San Ignacio town is 1.6 mi away. I loved this resort! Just having an experience of staying in the jungle, seeing animals, and being able to relax. The food is grown there, and is absolutely wonderful...all organic, and delicious. The staff is beyond phenomenal, and were always there to help you with anything, they were always smiling and asking if you needed anything and they would get you whatever you wanted! I'm gluten free and they are extremely careful about that, and asked us about our dietary restrictions. They even gave me delicious gluten free bread and gf banana bread. I met the owners, they are very friendly and always want to do the right thing. Being there is like being a part of a family, and even the guests sat and talked to us. It's located only 5 minutes to town by cab, and it costs $5. US. It was fabulous!

Loved the waterfall cave hike w cavesbranches. Did Caracol Mayan ruin and Rio Frio Cave and Big Rock Falls which were also excellent. I would not recommend cave tubing during the dry season because the water is too low. I would go cave tubing if it was the Fall/Winter when water levels are higher. We also really enjoyed the Mayan cooking class at Edna Valley Mayan cooking!!
